Invercargill Heritage Building: Two-storey, brick and plaster building designed by Edmund R Wilson in Edwardian ‘Baroque’ style and constructed c.1904-6 as the Invercargill Town Hall and Municipal Theatre. Constructed on the site of the former immigration barracks and fire station. In good condition. Significance: Listed; outstanding streetscape and architectural value for the quality of the its Baroque design and construction, its association with the notable architect ER Wilson, and high cultural and historical significance as the city town hall and former civic offices
