We went here for dinner recently and enjoyed it. Staff are really friendly, food is good and portion sizes are big for the adult meals. My only gripe is that the kids meals are expensive for the size $14 for a few chips and a tiny burger.
One of the very few places I like going to whenever I go out! Today was a busy day, it was packed and we had to wait for our food for almost half an hour. However, the wait was very much worth it. We tried the new menu, and it did not disappoint. The chicken and pork skewers are so juicy, well-cooked, literally one of the few best ones I have ever tried! The half-chicken was tasty, really suits my taste, and I would definitely come back for more sometime.
We come down for the good vibe and over the years nice staff. True there is a lot of turnover but normally every staff is super nice. Sunday there was a new staff member being flat out rude 'what do you want' which made a group of us, and I am sure others, feel like we were paying to be abused. Sadly this bar tender was drinking at the venue last night and was once again flat out rude, interrupting and being loud to a group of locals, 'dont you know who I am' was her attitude. She was apparently cut off by a staff member not long after who seemed like they were on another planet, she remained in the venue for hours as we were leaving she was on the floor of the ladies bathroom yelling that the venue stole her house keys. Brought it up a couple of times to staff that she was being a nuisance and the bar manager seemed dismissive at best 'we're dealing with it's no apologies no thanks. Good luck with keeping the good vibes guys, the civic is a home away from home for a lot of folk to come down and be merry. Hope you sort it out soon.
$25 steak night on Wednesdays. Do recommend. The steak was perfectttttly cooked. Great staff, tasty food. Been going here for years food has definitely improved significantly recently.
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat the other day. I was very impressed with the service, especially Danee behind the bar! Will definitely be back soon
