I just went to the library to return a book and pick up another one that I reserved. I figured I’d go to the counter and ask. Apparently, politely asking about a book while being in the library is shocking. I received surprised and taken back reactions and was told everything was automated now. The one staff member wouldn’t even come halfway out of the back to help and the other just told me it’s self service and showed me the spot to pick up my book. It’s honestly just sad, growing up I remember how great the library was, it was a treat when you got to go. I loved how friendly and warm of an environment it was to visit. Now human interaction is quickly being diminished, automation is taking over and it is not the same experience it once was.

We were happy to read, relax, recharge, and use Wi-Fi. It was kind of like our little haven in town when we were working our way down the coast. The people who worked there were very nice and there were a lot of programs as well as information on local events.
The library it's self is fine, the staff member I talked to was helpful, but why on earth isn't the non fiction section in Dewey order? WTF? Seriously. I've got to find a librarian in order to find a book? There's no map, there's no Dewey numbers on the signs, there are different Dewey numbers mixed together on the same shelf. What. The. Hell?
Fantastic library. Very large, lots of space and free WiFi.
Excellent place where you will find everything you need and go to see places in Townsville and around Queensland. I love it .
