The City of Palmerston Library is absolutely wonderful! The staff are completely friendly and welcoming, and the library is always clean and comfortable. There is a reasonable selection of books and a great space to study or relax.
Like the new renovation. It's well laid out. And finally they categorised books in logical categories!!!
The staff at Palmerston Library are friendly and helpful, but the overall management is quite poor. Visitors freely drink soft drinks and eat inside the library. People watch videos on tablets without headphones, with the sound playing out loud. There’s a middle-aged man in his 50s or 60s who treats the place like his own living room and chats loudly non-stop. Some young people even put their dirty shoes up on the sofas.nThe reading experience is extremely disappointing. Unless management improves and starts educating visitors on basic library etiquette, I won’t be coming back a second time.
If you're wanting to relax in a quiet place to read, Palmerston library isn't it. It's way too loud for a library. Even the staff were hollering at each other, kids running around screaming, loud music playing. I had to leave because it was hard to concentrate on my book even with noise cancelling ear buds in. Awful place to read.
Nice staff and lots of different books to read. Good selection of Manga too!
