Last minute booking for 7, parked outside the place was dead quiet. Was thinking we made a mistake. Chef comes out to greet us and tells us about tonight's special. I didn't really pay attention, due to kids stuffing about. we're the only customer in the restaurant. My foodie friend proceeds to over order as usual. The food was amazing, the front of house lady made our Thai milk tea which was perfect about of sweetness. Not the overly orange mix you would usually get and then having to water down the condense milk. This was proper Thai milk tea. I am surprised the place was dead quiet on a Saturday night. Down the street was an ordinary Thai place and it was booming. The chef here has way more skills. I've uploaded pics, this must be the best that food around the 15km radius. Will take my parents here, they will love it. Vegetarian options: Couple of options Kid-friendliness: Toilet sink kids height friendly
Wasn’t too sure about this restaurant and we entered on a whim. Oh wow! I really liked the Caramelised pork hocks prepared by the chef. Crispy outside and tender inside, just falling apart in the mouth as you bite into it. Their Thai fish cake was good, drizzled with sweet chilli sauce. Red duck curry was delicious again meat was tender and falling apart, all spices nicely combined making a flavoursome curry, which I could not help but keep “drinking” after finishing duck and vegies. Staff were friendly and responded well to our questions on the dishes. Will definitely return again to try out their more “regular” Thai dishes ie green curry, stir fry noodles, etc.
Went for dinner here on the recommendation from a friend and was completely blown away. It looks like your average Thai restaurant however the food was on another level. Every dish we had was beautifully presented, cooked with skill and care and was reasonably priced to boot. The most unassuming place for a 5 star dining experience. Thank you so much!
Went there for an early dinner. Staff was friendly. The starters were average but the mains were full of flavour. Tried some vegetarian options as well and the whole family loved it. Nice dining vibe!
My sister took me to Cilantro for dinner tonight, and it was absolutely incredible! The curries were such a yummy balance of spice and flavour. I really enjoyed the slow cooked pork hock! The crispy skin and vinegar dipping sauce was divine. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good Thai fusion!
Cilantro always has sensational food and service. Much more than your everyday Thai restaurant. Food is fresh, extra tasty and very very delicious. Lovely welcoming family who run this restaurant exactly how a great restaurant should be run. Highly recommended to everyone who loves authentic and inspirational food. Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian food. Kid-friendliness: Family sometimes has there children there so l m sure others will be welcomed by them too. Parking: Lots of close by parking. Just a short stroll to this wonderful restaurant.
The best Thai food I have had. We had fish cakes and satay chicken for entree. Massamam beef curry and Pad Thai for main. All definitely home made with the most amazing flavours. Will certainly be regulars from now on.
We came here for dinner . We were far from home and decided to stop here for dinner . Staff were friendly which I cannot fault . Food was good too , but was unfortunately the strangest version of Thai food I’ve ever had . Definitely not authentic at all and had some weird mixes. Food was still tasty but just not what Thai food is. Golden bags had a mix of mince and corn with a chilli Mayo. Thai salad no chilli at all, very bizarre . Again if you want authentic Thai this is not the place to go .
I was highly recommended this restaurant being the best in the area. I can understand why as the owner and chef makes everything from scratch and it tastes amazing. I’ll be back in two weeks time and will make this my favourite Thai restaurant in South East Melbourne. Regards Paul
Absolute favorite Thaï in Melbourne. We love the Tom yum, the papaya salad, pad Thai is excellent. We’ve been here three times and every time we’ve forgotten they’re closed fo lunch but they served us any way. We really love coming here.
