DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Do yourself a favour and don't go to this restaurant. This is not Italian food. In fact it's just stuff on a plate.... Group of 5 people and had a scoopon...sadly I still feel ripped off. I think the chef is just the Indian owners cousin from Madras. The lamb shank was bad and could hardly be cut with a steak knife. The shoestring fries were okay, as was the pizza. The waitress was lovely. I'll chalk it up to experience and remember to read reviews before I buy another scoopon.
We went on the weekend with a Scoopon voucher. I am very careful to check terms and conditions when purchasing deal vouchers. The Scoopon I purchased excluded the Antipasto platter from the entrees, the Beef Fillet from the mains and the Nutella pizza from the desserts. The waitress told us that Scoopon had made a mistake and we could only order a main from one side of the menu and a Pizza from the other. I insisted that the voucher be honoured as per conditions on which it was purchased so after much debate they conceded. We had the calamari as the shared entree, whilst very tender and tasty the portion was very small but it was an entree. They then brought out our mains I had the salmon and again small but adequate as I am don't eat huge meals, it was ok but lacked seasoning and therefore was bland. My partner had ordered the steak and prawns which has two prawns and a few tiny thin slices of steak, my partner joked we were being served voucher customer portions. For dessert I had the Creme Brulee which was quite nice except the crust was sticky and didn't have the crack a Creme Brulee should and could not detect the amaretto it was supposed to have in a very small ramekin and my partner had a very small portion of tiramisu. They rushed us through the courses and we were out of there within the hour. Not exceptional but the quality of the food was ok. Not sure I would return however as if I was to have to pay full price for the meal I would be extremely unimpressed. Shame that some restaurants don't offer voucher and then try and impress the patrons to encourage them to return as it was a convenient location for us and we could have become regulars. Lost opportunity for you there Cibo e Vino.
Not bad for a Scoopon deal at all. Better than we expected. The mains were average but entrees were quite nice. In particular, the garlic and chilli chips were tasty - one of the best that I've had - highly recommended. It was a bit cold for a rainy night but the waitress was very warm and friendly. We were looked after and had a good time. Desserts were nice too. Chocolate pudding was my favourite.
Horrible restaurant, even the waitress agrees. I would definitely not call it Italian either, not one Italian person in there! We should of known when the place was empty it was no good. We went with a scoopon voucher and upon telling the waitress we wanted to try the crab bruschetta for entree she shook her head as if to say no don't get that its not nice at all. She said she would recommend getting the salt and pepper calamari, which we did and even that was poor. We had pasta's for main and they were both bland and lacking flavour, only 2 prawns in the whole dish and they were extremely over cooked and tough. When we tried have desert we were given a menu with a lot of things crossed out and then told there was no gelato as someone had left the door on the freezer open and it had melted everywhere. Will never go back!
Went on Scoopon voucher would have been very disappointed if I had paid full price. For starter we had crab bruschetta which was essentially cucumber on toast. While it tasted average the crab was non existent. Main 1 was seafood risotto comprising of 2 prawns, 2 mussels and some calamari again it was average and would have benefitted from some more seafood or a homemade fish stock. Main 2 was lamb ragu, sounded promising but it contained one edible tiny piece of lamb and lots of lamb fat. The meat used in the ragu was of a very cheap and poor quality. Desserts were praline semi freddo and panna cotta. Sadly the semi freddo did not contain any nuts despite pistachios, macadamias and hazelnuts being mentioned on the menu. The vanilla bean panna cotta had no vanilla bean but a slight hint of vanilla essence. Overall other than good customer service there is nothing about this restaurant that would tempt me back. It has lots of potential but needs to improve the quality of the food being served.
Didnt like the food at all and wouldnt recommend going there. We had a large group with a scoopon voucher. Majority of our food was so unappealing. The steaks looked like minute steaks with all fat on it, the lamb shanks were hard and dont even get me started with the creme brulee! I cant believe they even thought ot was okay to take out food like that. The topping was so thick you couldnt even break it even if you picked it up and used your hands. That was with all the 5 creme brulees we had and they didnt even offer to replace it. I wouldnt go back there.. quality comes first but that is what place doesnt have and that is why they wont be seeing us again.
The pizzas are nice but a bit small. The pasta I ordered wasn't that great. We ordered the Nutella Pizza which is meant to come with strawberries and bananas but they forgot the banana. When we asked for it they said they ran out. Then we asked for additional strawberries to make up for it and they also conveniently "ran out". Not that impressive...
Restaurant is nice but not well suited for young families. We are a Chinese Australian family that loves pizza and pasta. Pasta could be better heaps of sauce but no flavor. Pizza is a bit dry. Will try again in a few months time.
6 of us went here last Saturday night after doing a search for a reasonable Italian restaurant in the Castle Hill area. Things didn't start well when we received a phone call at 5.30pm that afternoon to confirm our booking. They had the wrong name and the wrong amount of people against our phone number, but luckily it was sorted out and confirmed again. The restaurant was half full when we arrived but it took some time to have our orders taken. Then it took over an hour to receive our mains. By this time the restaurant was full and the staff and kitchen were obviously not coping. This could be helped by staggering their bookings more and also training their staff better. Also, none of the staff were Italian, including the chef. One of the meals came out wrong and had to be sent back, so that member of our group had to wait whilst we all started, as our meals would have got cold. The actual food was quite acceptable, but the serving sizes for the same dish were quite uneven and the prices weren't exactly cheap. After our mains it took another half hour to get our desserts. There were no dessert spoons on the table but soup spoons were handed out in a hurried way! My sister had 2 long black hairs in her gelato which wasn't great. When we finally were able to get a waitresses attention she just said Oh, sorry and wandered off and never said anything to anybody as we watched her. The whole place seemed to be disorganised and rushed off it's feet. When the bill came my husband went up to the front desk and said we won't be paying for the gelato since it had hair in it and there was no apology or anything. Then they couldn't get our credit card to work through their eftpos machine - luckily we had enough cash on us! We definitely won't be returning.
Came here tonight with friends l. Excellent food. My wife had pollo peste penne. Wow. Best meal at the table. I had steak with prawns and mash. The sauce combined with the above provided 15 minutes of mouthgazms. Wow. Will definately come back... highly recommended and great value...
