Ciao Italia

About

In Nedlands, Ciao Italia is located at 39/88, Broadway St. (corner of Caporn St.). Call them at: 9389 6689.

Story

The moment you set foot into the doors of Ciao Italia, you immediately feel like you’ve walked into Italy! The melodious Italian tarantella music, Italian waiters shouting across the room, patrons tapping their feet to the music, checkered table cloth, terracotta walls, aroma of garlic, Italian nick knacks on the walls are all part of the charm in this cosy home-style restaurant.

Ciao Italia, South Perth opened in August 1999 by a young Italian chef, Spartaco Rotella. It started as an Italian takeaway with seating for 20 patrons. The reputation of its mouth watering pastas and woodfired pizzas spread quickly and this created the need for more seating. In 2009 Ciao Italia took over the shop next door and now comfortably seats 90 patrons. After 16 amazing years, Ciao Italia opened its second branch in the lush neighborhood of Nedlands.

Ciao Italia is passionate about two things, the food we serve and giving our patrons a truly authentic Italian experience! In that we mean, stepping into Italy without having to leave the country!

This place was amazing! We were visiting from interstate and really felt like an authentic Italian food so we came across this place. Despite being busy they had a perfect table available for us guess that’s luck. Amazing variety of pizza and pasta. Food came out very quickly. Lots of flavors. Now the portions… you really could have one pasta for 2 people. We had so much left over. Definitely one of the few places I been too where the portions have been surprising. I got the Marinara and it was FULL of seafood. To top it off staff were very friendly and attentive. As interstate guests we were very satisfied and will recommend to anyone who visits Perth. Thank you
⁣ The restaurant is nearly full. We are placed pretty close to other customers, thus there is no safety distance in the restaurant. All food is served within 16 minutes ⁣ $. 13 inches⁣ , , , , , & ⁣ ⁣ There are seven slices, and a total of ten prawns. It was served hot, pizza is not too doughy and is easy to eat. It was well distributed and delicious. I'm blown away.⁣ ⁣ $.⁣ The serving size is enormous. It's good to share with up to 5-6 people. The soup is topped off with some bread. It was crunchy and complimented the soup well.⁣ ⁣ $.⁣ , , , & ⁣ ⁣ It was a creamy pasta meal that could serve 4-5 people. However, I will skip on the this because it is just too creamy for my taste.⁣ ⁣ $.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Guys, this is the bomb. It's ! Words are inadequate. This must be ordered!
I’ve been coming to Ciao Italia since I was in high school - this place is an institution to most people in the area. I think that the Italian food may not be the best in Perth but that by no means makes it bad! They have great bold flavours and a wide variety on a menu that has been tried and tested for years. Their portions are good and usually one is enough to feed a person. Pizza is good here as well, although I think I’ll always prefer the pasta! Ever since expanding the restaurant seating has become less of an issue but I think on a popular night you will find that you still have to wait in line to get in. The venue itself can sit quite a large group provided you call up in advance, and parking around the area usually isn’t an issue. Staff are friendly and many of the same staff have been serving there for the longest time! I have many Italian restaurants I like in Perth and I think even for nostalgic value alone Ciao Italia is ok the list for me. Definitely give it a go if you like good quality Italian food!
Fantastic Italian dining place, a must go if you are visiting Perth. The waiters are all friendly. Let them know in advance if you are celebrating birthday and they will join in a celebratory song with you as a surprise!
This a beautiful, cultural sort of restaurant for those who wanna try some authentic Italian. I have always loved Italian food and guess this place will feature in my top list in Perth. It’s a little hard to get seating but the wait is worth it.
Was lovely eating there. Plenty of food. Couldn't finish it. Lovely staff. They were real busy. I liked the setting and the service. Fair pricing. Left happy.
Absolutely delicious Italian food. Was crowded on a weekday night but only queued for around 20-30 minutes. Staff were friendly and efficient. For food, we ordered the squid ink pasta with tomato chilli sauce, carbonara, truffle mushroom pizza and the smoked salmon pizza. Everything was delicious and the food was quick to be served. The portions were huge for 5, and we were very satisfied. The star of the show though was definitely the tiramisu for dessert! A must-order :- Would definitely return again.
Best Italian in Perth!! We have been coming here for many years now and the food has always been high standard, with big portions and great service. All their food is amazing but if I had to recommend something it’d be the chilli mussels and the fettuccine ciao italia - and can’t forget their tiramisu which is to die for. These will always be in our order! Only downside is the crazy wait times but if you arrive just as they open it usually isn’t too bad, just try to avoid peak times but even if you wait a bit, honestly it’s still worth and it even makes the food taste better!
Had this the first night we arrive in Perth, probably the best decision made, we’ve been to the other outlet in the past, but this outlet was our first visit. As usual, great food, fantastic portion, love the service, friendly and helpful. Me and my friends really had a great time. I’d highly recommend the mussel soup. So damn good.
Bruschetta looks simple but the tastiest thing I’ve had! Even the salad on the side with dressing is a 10/10. Pizza. Don’t even need to say more 10/10. Service 10/10. Always checked on, attentive, friendly and welcoming. Squid ink pasta with the chilli tomato sauce. 10/10, I mean…. Just look at my photo. Belliiisssiiimmoooo! We always love eating here and it’s always worth the wait no matter how long
