Came here for brunch and was surprised by the half an hour wait in the queue but with hindsight, one understands why. My partner and I ordered almond croissants, plain croissant and a chocolate eclair. All of which tasted incredible and very much like the pastries found in France, highly recommend visiting this place!
I've visited Chu bakery several times and lined up like everyone else, but I do find the pastries drier than I prefer. Nonetheless, it's still one of the best bakeries in Perth and I understand why it's so popular. My favourite is easily the almond crossaint.
Don't be put off by the line because it's totally worth it! Coffee is alright but the pastries and bakery goodies is where it's at. Definitely recommend for sweet treats or freshly baked breads and even though there isn't cafe seating, it's directly opposite Hyde Park where you can relax on warmer days. On cold days, you can just take away and enjoy your order in comfort of your own home. There is usually several staff on at once so it's not too long of a wait and they're friendly and fast.
This bakery has ignited a love for pastries in our community with its talented and passionate team. Their light, creamy tarts, crispy and flavorful treats, and classic croissants are a delight for any pastry lover. The quick, grab-and-go caffeine drinks pair perfectly with a bite of their delicious creations. I appreciate the practice of patience as we wait in line each Sunday, knowing that every bite is worth the wait. Thank you, team, for your dedication and love for pastry.
Chu Bakery is an absolute must visit if you love pastries. We found out about this place from a friend and decided to walk over from Perth train station.nnIt wasn't too long a walk. About 15 - 20 minutes. The opening time for this place is 7am - 4pm. We arrived at 8am and there was no queue. We also came at 1pm on another day. Although there was a queue the wait was not for more than 20 minutes as the line moved along quickly.nnRecommended items:n1 Ham & Cheese Croissantn2 Cinnamon Twistn3 Their Chai Latte was not badn4 Their eclairs and donuts seem popular with the localsnnAfter you head here to get pastries you can head to Sayer Sister's for breakfast which is just round the corner. There is also Hyde Park which is a nice place to walk or just to sit and eat your pastries. There are swans and a lot of wildlife there :nnDo note that this bakery does not have chairs/tables and so there is no option to dine in. Only takeaway.
