Chu Bakery is a wildly popular spot, and you'll often find a long queue snaking out the door, but trust me, the food is absolutely worth the wait!nnMy personal favourite is their chicken baguette, which is always fresh and bursting with flavour. And for a sweet treat, you can't go past their Earl Grey dessert – it's a perfect blend of delicate tea notes and just the right amount of sweetness. Plus, their Earl Grey hot chocolate is a fantastic choice if you're looking for something warm and comforting.nnIt's a consistently good experience, and it's easy to see why it's a local favourite and great for a neat picnic with Hyde Park across the road and pre or post yoga workout during season is always a bonus!
The service was very nice and recommended almond croissant, I do not regret, one of the best almond croissants in Perth. The pastry was very chewy and buttery. Will come back for the vanilla eclair, also Hyde park is the perfect location. Long wait on the weekend though.
Was recommended through social media platforms as a hidden gem, so we went ahead to look for it. You wouldn't miss it because there was already a queue at 9 am!nnWe weren't disappointed, with an average price of Aud 7 per pastry, I chose the salted caramel doughnut and loved it for its freshly baked softness, and also the sweetness was just nicennAfter buying your pastries, you could just cross the street to the park right opposite the store and enjoy your breakfast.nnPerfect food and setting!nnPS: they only do takeaways. Plus, they close on Mondays
Bakes and coffee were amazing! Lil pricey but quality bakes. One of the better ones. Coffee took a long wait but tastes good overall. Walked over to Hyde park after that.
Been wanting to try this place for a long time. Don’t think I’ll come back twice especially if I have to queue.nToday we had the caramel donut, raspberry croissant, vanilla eclair, cinnamon roll, strawberry tart, and tomato provolone sandwich.nnCaramel donut: too sweet, caramel a bit too bitter for my liking, not balanced at all.nCinnamon roll: diabetes sweet and had way too much cinnamon, there’s no lightness to it, the dough was also quite heavy from all the sugar.nTomato provolone sandwich: for that price I expected it to have more tomatoes and slightly more cheese around the edges, not worth the price.nStrawberry tart: base is not flakey and buttery enough, custard is so sonnRaspberry croissant, very delicious but by the end of if I felt like I just had way too much sugar, wish it was a bit more balanced.nVanilla éclaire is very close to some good ones I had in France, the filling is very soft and fluffy, melted chocolate stayed melted and soft for a very long time so good I brought one home! choux pastry tasted very good, slightly salty, everything works on this one!nnOverall I think this bakery just lacks balance in many of its pastries. Personally would love a lot less sugar in them.
