I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to Cho Cho San, and the food never disappoints! The trout, in particular, is the highlight and a big reason I keep coming back. I’ve introduced so many friends and family to this place, and it continues to be a favorite.nnHowever, while the food is exceptional, the atmosphere can feel a bit rushed. It’s not the kind of restaurant where you can relax and savor the experience. Each time, there’s a push to order, eat quickly, and leave so they can accommodate the next reservation. I understand the need for turnover, but if you’re looking for a leisurely meal, this might not be the place. Be prepared to eat and then head somewhere else to unwind and properly digest your food.
The miso eggplant skewer is the best! We loved it so much that we ordered it twice. Everything was delicious, though a bit pricey, and the restaurant was quite loud. Despite that, I still want to visit again.
Recently dined at this restaurant, and we were thoroughly impressed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The service was top-notch, and the food selection was excellent. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a good dining experience.
Cho Cho San together with its sister restaurant the Apollo just up the road at the Devere Hotel are my favorite restaurants in Sydney for family dining as well as entertaining.nnWent to Cho Cho last month for my Anniversary and we were very well looked after as usual. Pictures said a thousand words. See for yourself, highly recommended.nnBTW, for the first time we actually tried the warm sake due to the cold weather and it absolutely complimented the Japanese favours.nnSome of the dishes we had which were not shown from the choices below: mix sashimi, wagyu steak, pork chops.
Cho Cho San, while offering a visually appealing and diverse menu, left us with a somewhat mixed experience. The Cho Cho San Feast was a journey of flavours, with some standout dishes that truly impressed.nnThe edamame, a seemingly simple starter, was a delightful surprise. It was tangy, well seasoned, with a just a little touch of a spicy kick which made it the dish, they were a satisfying and addictive appetiser.nnThe kingfish was another highlight. The delicate slices were incredibly fresh and flavourful, showcasing the quality of the fish. The nutty-sweet sesame sauce perfectly complemented the kingfish. Its creamy texture enhanced the fish's sweetness, while the crisp cucumber added a refreshing crunch.nnWhile I'm not a huge fan of prawns, the ones served here were exceptional. They were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy.nnUnfortunately, the striploin fell short of our expectations. Some pieces were tough and chewy, and there was a slight off-putting smell on some pieces. And the dessert, while visually appealing, was also rather an average ending to this set.nnOverall from the set menu we had, Cho Cho San offers quite a unique dining experience with some truly exceptional dishes. In saying that, we will definitely come back to try some of the other dishes from the a la carte menu.
