On 26/05/25, I applied for a visa at Counter 5, and on 28/05/25, I picked up my visa at Counter 3. On both occasions, I encountered staff who were unprofessional and unhelpful. Lack of explanation, patience, and good customer service attitude. This was a contrast to good service I experienced during my previous visa applications in 2009, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2023, when the staff were courteous, efficient, and respectful even during the times of long queues and high volume.nnIt is disappointing to see a decline in service quality.
Very strict but very fast at the same time. Practically 1.5 min per customer, the queue goes through reallt quickly despite long snake lines before opening. Thankfully they would discontinue appointment requirements from november 2023 onwards and everyone could do walk ins.
Excellent service. I arrived with 5 minutes to go but they very kindly served me and I was able to submit my visa application. They also kindly informed me that the normal cheper would be more suited to my needs instead of the express service which I prebooked as I had plenty of time until my trip. Very impressed
Nothing but bad experience on the phone and email. Absolute no replies whatsoever, live 30 minutes away and can’t reach it by phone to double check if my visa has been ready as website has no information despite searching everywhere. No replies on email or phone, so how would I know? Should I take a trip each time I have a question that can be answered by a single phone call?
So apparently there is no need for visa application if you are on an Australian passport and you are visiting for less than 30 days. We forgot to google before doing the application. Ladies at the visa centre was most helpful. No line whatsoever.
