Great, friendly new restaurant in Stepney. Can be a little quiet, but that's why we write reviews. The Crispy Chilli Beef is sensational, but the plate seems to empty way too fast. I think it must just disappear, because there's no way I could eat it that quickly. Really. Trust me. Prices are good. Serving sizes are good. Not to big, not too small. The team seems to enjoy what they're doing and I wish them well. Make a booking. Order a takeaway. Go on, you know you want to. But don't order all the Crispy Chilli Beef. That's mine.
After ordering my meal, processing the full required price, and receiving a confirmation text from menu log, I received a call from Lucky Star advising me that I would have to pay an additional delivery fee. This was despite no delivery fee being stated on their menu. When I questioned this they said I would have to pay or they would cancel the order. When I objected again, they said no one would care if I complained and hung up. I've ordered from them previously with no issues and am completely shocked that they would treat a repeat customer this way. Do not order from them, or they will extort you for more money after you have made full payment.
Mistake here!!! This is not Chilli Chi's Google+ Page, but Lucky Star's. All the reviews are about Lucky Star. Lucky Stay has closed down 2 months ago, now new owner came in and built up a brand new restaurant Chilli Chi, serving Southeast Asian cuisine.
Im a regular lunchtime patron and love their big bowls of noodle soup. At about $7 I think this a good price. Not the best looking place but the rough edges give it an authentic feel. They seem very popular with the takeaway crowd so I presume that quite good as well.
Only ordered take-away. Ordered some Prawn Crackers $2 or close to and got about 10 crackers. Dim sims size of a meatball. Restaurant not busy but staff too busy to thank me or even hand over my order had to reach behind counter. Fried Rice lovely. But not sure if I would return just for this. Not a pleasant experience
