I dined at Chilli Bar Tandoori today evening and have mixed feelings about my experience. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the waitress was friendly. We ordered roti, dal makhani, mixed veggies, aloo paratha, and tandoori chicken. While the dal makhani, roti, and aloo paratha were tasty, the mixed veggies curry was disappointing as the vegetables were undercooked. The tandoori chicken was the worst part of the meal - it had an awful taste and smell, and was heavily coated in red color which was hard to wash off. However, the staff was polite and the chef enquired about the issue and later offered a refund when we gave feedback on the food but we appreciated the chef's kind gesture in offering a refund, but we declined it.nnUpdate : 3 of us had stomach issues today
We moved to Beaumaris 3 months ago. We were introduced to Chilli Bar with takeaway. We found the food delicious and tasty. We are not very big Indian food fans, however since the takeaway meal we have been there twice. Food is great, it’s not curry heavy, but superbly spiced, you can have light, medium or heavy, we like medium. The naan is to die for.nExcellent service and walking distance from home. We are booked to go there on New Year’s Eve with friends. Would highly recommend it.
Tried this place as it came up in my feed Worst Indian meal I’ve come across.nBeef so dry and madras gravy didn’t taste life madras, more like something out of a jar, butter chicken was riddled with some kind of what seemed chewy fat which was odd and had zero taste Nothing fresh about this place including chilli powder not fresh chillinnBiggest let down and will stick with my regular authentic Indian places in future.
Wow, the chicken Birmingham Bolti is up there with one of the nicest and best curries I’ve ever eaten. I’m from the Uk where the standard of curry is overall high to excellent and this curry is up there. Well done to the chef that made this curry. What it comes down to mainly is the chicken was so tender it melts in your mouth. I’ve never eaten chicken this tender. If you’re in the area and what a good curry, look no further.

Chilli Bar is up there with the best in Melbourne.nLime Chilli prawns are terrific the Lamb korma chicken tikka outstanding .nBhaji rated best ever by my partner!nDefinitely not your standard suburban Indian restaurant....nRice and Naan to high standard. BYO.nnHighly recommended!
