Went here today for lunch and the experience was really great. The food was cooked to perfection and uniqueness you wouldn't find anywhere in Melbourne. True fusion of Aussie and Indian cuisine by preserving the perfection and genuineness of indian cooking. Terrific service by the team there at chichora, great ambience and presentation. Highly recommend restaurant.
We were there for lunch on Sunday,13 Nov 22. Enjoyed the tap KF beer and tasted a few from the breakfast n starter menus. The chat was really good and so was the parota aloo and mince. Nice ambience, street parking available and great service. The food quality was the highlight
Found chichora by fluke. We tried their kadhai paneer , chicken and dal makhani. All curries and breads were delicious. Service was great and all at reasonable prices. Nothing to fault Looking forward to visit again and try their entrees and desserts
Booked this place after seeing and hearing so many great reviews. I have to say Positive: Beautiful staff rapport and customer service. Great presentation of the dishes Right temperature of the food Great music to enjoy the time. Bhature was perfect and delicious and worth a revisit. Yoghurt and Aachar was nice as was the salad. Chai was perfect and needed on a day like today in Melbourne. Disappointing: Amritsari Kulche- there was such a thin layer of aloo in the center and everything else was just dough and mine was raw and unenjoyable. To be honest I was a little disappointed with the chole. It wasn't soft and flavour was a tad watered down. Nothing like the flavours like Amritsar. Overall it was nice but could have been better and appreciated the extra serving as the kulcha/bhature portion was higher and sabzi was needed to finish it.
Finally a place near CBD for Indian breakfast, they have got a variety of options for food. Taste wise it is probably one of the best Indian restaurants. Anyone out there looking for one of best Chole Bature for breakfast this is the place. I can go on but you got the point.
Fantastic food. All our guests loved it. They made sure to provide delicious food for all dietary requirements. Perhaps most importantly, the team was an absolute delight, and looked after our guests really well. Highly recommended.
Always love to visit this place for breakfast and brunch. Lovely people with amazing food ideas.
Amazing hospitality and a great variety of options. We had Amritsari kulcha and channa bhatura for starters. The stuffing in kulcha was mind blowing and the channa tastes so good. Both the dishes came with a serve of yoghurt and mix salad. We had chicken malai tikka which was so tender and succulent, loved it as if it melts in the mouth. Soft taco was good too! For mains, we had jackfruit biryani--delicious pick for vegetarians craving for biryani. We had Kadhai paneer, chicken madras, dhal tadka, jeera rice and roti. Paneer tasted yum and I have never had such awesome chicken madras before. I was in a dilemma at first about ordering chicken madras but I was totally impressed by what chef did to it!! Chilli cheese garlic naan was heavenly yummy-you can never stop wanting it, it's so fantastic Dhal tadka and rice made a satisfying meal too. For desserts, we had paan kulfi, espresso rasmalai, and gulab jamun. The latter two were served with one scoop of ice-cream on the side. Loved paan kulfi and gulab jamun were really simple yet simply amazing. Espresso rasmalai is a fusion dish which tastes like espresso and I think it will depend on you if you like it or not. The host is generous and the service is friendly. They have a robot to serve you food! The environment is great with Bollywood songs in the background. The wall paintings are attractive! They have a wide variety of drinks including soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, cocktails, and mocktails, lassi, and tea. They also have two tables for outdoor dining, in case someone is looking for. I was so pleased enjoying the food that I forgot to click the pictures! Photos for next time! Definitely returning and recommending this place to everyone. Vegetarian options: Butternut squash, paneer curries, taco, burger, lots of vegetarian entrees, Jack jackfruit biryani, and so on. Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian, Halal, and vegan options available!
Absolutely delicious and excellent service. 10/10.
Overall quite a nice meal with deep and rich authentic Indian flavours. I don’t think they have a tandoor so I think the naan is pan roasted. Still quite good. I asked for spicy, the chef delivered my main and offered some spicy pickle, I said yes but he never returned. I also ordered an entree, waited 30 minutes for my food, then my main came and the chef had no idea about my order of the entree so I said don’t worry about it. When I went to pay I told the waitress not to include the entree because it different arrive, then she blamed me and said it was because I canceled it. No, you never told your chef. I ordered a large milkshake which was $7 and it was no bigger than 370ml and it was room temperature and thin. The plain rice was quite nice. I was overcharged by $2 overall but I didn’t say anything. Some things they need to iron out but overall just okay. Reply to owner: lol why should I email you? I’ve just given you an account of what happened. What do you want to do? Meet for a cup of tea and some scones? Generic answer. Reply: No, I ordered the butter chicken and rice $15, + Naan $3 + Milkshake $7 = $25. OKAY? Ive uploaded a picture of the price of your Naan and milkshake, look, I didnt say anything when I paid. And where did the extra .10 come from? Take ownereship and apologise when you are wrong, stop cheating your customers.
