If it was not the food would be inclined to give a single star, staff and owner courtesy and service is inclined to a dedicated table and offer personalised service. We placed our order for a wanton starter, three main course dishes, one veggie fried rice and a bowl of rice. To our amazement we were served the bowl of rice with the starters !!!! How pathetic, shows how badly the service is supervised. Reading the service experience of other diners posting review I do believe the owner must learn pronto to be professional and not glued to one table.
Just had the most satisfying meal at CHI. The Chilli Pepper Squid had the perfect crispiness. The poultry dishes could not be better! I would definitely come back for more Peking Pork Ribs. A bite of the flavorful Fried rice with Salty Fish and Chicken just healed my homesickness. The boss, Manyiu, was attentive and super funny and made the whole dinning experience A+. I finished the meal with the mouthwatering Red Bean pancake with ice cream. Also, it didn't take much time to get all the dishes out for my friends and me so another bonus point!
Most shocking experience! Totally disappointing! We have been to Chi a few times and have always enjoyed the food. We brought a couple of friends there for dinner last night and had the worst dinning experience ever. There was a table of loud & vulgar guest, visibly had too much to drink, and it was only 7pm. But what topped it was, instead of managing the rude guest, the restaurant manager Man , joined in with the inappropriate behaviour, clearly he had too much to drink & they are friends. Such anti social behaviour should not be tolerated in a family restaurant. It was obvious that all the guest were disturbed and disgusted. We pay for a dinning experience, not to be bombarded by a bunch of drunks' loud crude vulgar exchanges. Even the waitresses were ashamed by their manager's behaviour and clearly they felt very uncomfortable too. I rung and spoke to Man today to express my bad experience , and to hear what he has to say. Although Man admitted he had a drop too much and had gone overboard & apologised. Somehow I'm not sure if he truly understand the seriousness of his actions. I will not be patronising Chi anytime soon.
The best Chinese food in Victoria Park and the hainanese chicken rice is fantastic!. They've now removed the bench seats and it's now more spacious. Make sure you book for the evenings is always very busy!
Food was below average, rice was charged per bowl at $3. Rice is $3 I would get a better tasting food a a fast food chain. Service was good and the food disappointing including the extra charges for extra rice
Prawn toast, salt n pepper chilli prawns...and whatever else u think... we never order of the menu and have never been disappointed.... always great food and service. Love this place
First time dinning at Chi. Very disappointed with the poor quality of service and mannerism of the staff. Average quality food and expensive.
Ordered through UberEATS and was extremely disappointed that they are falsely advertising their food with photos in the description that look nothing like the dish that is brought to you.
Been here a couple of times and the chinese food are authentic and great.
Best Chinese in Vic Park. The Laksa is amazing, great service and fresh food!!
