Went in there today with my daughter, walking out we were confronted by the security guy who insisted on me opening my bag and moving everything around to see what was in there. My daughter had a spotlight bag with fabric that that he wanted us to empty out completely in the process breaking the bag. I had purchased two bags of jelly beans which I didn’t get a receipt for that he then made me go back in the store to get a receipt. Absolutely disgusted, I’m a 65yo women I’ve never been treated this badly by a security guard!
Went into this store with a friend who grabbed a perfume to buy. We walked to the perfume aisle the lovely female staff got the set she was after, we walked straight to the register to pay. Upon walking out I had my pram with my newborn baby in it I was asked to open my babies nappy bag under the pram which I have no problem doing. I was then accused by the Male Chemist Warehouse Staff member that I had stolen baby wipes. These baby wipes were half empty & of course I am going to have wipes in my “babys bag”. He then proceeded to accuse me, yell at me and even swear at me as I told him to go check the cameras. I watched him not accuse anyone else or even check their bags, just me, an Indigenous first time mother with a newborn baby. This whole experience was so humiliating, to have everyone walking by looking at me and also him telling other customers that I’ve stolen wipes. For one, why would I take wipes & empty half of them out? secondly you’d expect to find wipes in a damn babys bag. I complained to the manager and to the head office they clearly did nothing & didnt care since I still see the same male working there. Such a shame to do this to a new mother, i have since stopped making all my purchases at Chemist Warehouse because I refuse to purchase from a company that clearly needs to educate their staff.
Staff that work there are lovely. However, the female Pharmacists need to learn how to smile and greet customers and not seem so cold and unwelcoming. The last time I came to get something the pharmacist wasn’t that friendly and just stapled some fact sheets together and literally threw it in the basket and walked off then served the next customer.
Unless you have the most basic of medical needs and don’t need the advice or assistance of the pharmacist, I would strongly suggest going anywhere else. A holier-than-thou attitude from dispensing staff and the pharmacist on duty, without actually listening to the request made or information sought. Price is the only thing they have going for them, and that is no longer enough.
Awful customer service. Came here three times now, everytime there's no hello, thankyou, goodbye nothing. They don't say a word to you at all. Very rude and unfriendly by all staff who work on the front.
