Was OK overall. We ate the Queenslander and GoodFella burgers. The GoodFella a $15 burger that I was charged $16.50 for without notice - only a note in small writing on the counter - no where near the menus. That was very disappointing. The prices on the main menu could have easily been charged but they weren't. I felt cheated. Not a good start to my experience. Size - Good size but not great value Quality of ingredients - Fresh and tasty, except the bacon which was rubbery and possibly overcooked. Taste - Great soft burger with plenty of flavour. Just the right amount of spice... although a little messy. Presentation - Decent presentation in a foil type of envelope. Made it easy to eat and kept the drip factor low. Ambience of Location - Corner location with plenty of outdoor undercover seating. Quite comfortable with a little bit of a garden feel. Value for Money - It was a little over priced for what it was. But the service was good and burgers came out fast less than 5 minutes. Overall Satisfaction - Being charged extra without warning wasn't good. But with the service and good tasting burger 7.8 out of 10, I would say it is OK. Not sure I would come back.
The burgers are fabulous!! The buns are soft, light and significant; whilst their patties - whether it’s the Wagyu or Southern fried chicken, were juicy and flavourful! The sauce has a subtle yet inviting tart component to it! The burgers are hefty and heavy yet have those vegetable elements that make them whole! One of the best burgers I had in a while! Priced well, and has a good vibe overall with its interior! Will definitely visit again!
FULL REVIEW Wouldn’t recommend. One of their ‘best’ burgers, recommended by their 1 year staff… We were the only customers at 12:45pm. Food came out fast 4mins 50 secs. The Queenslander burger hits a 7.7/10 for this burger connoisseur. Quality chicken burger with a spicy aftertaste, the bacon was slightly overcooked and haha charcoal-y. But the meat and the buns were great. Cheese slightly too processed for my liking. Has a solid spicey after-taste. Wouldn’t recommend. Also note: There is a sur-charge of $1.50 for the price rise in quality goods. They could have changed the price on the menu — we paid $34 when we were expecting $31 for 2 burgers. Burger Choice: the Queenlander rated by Masters Size: Standard Burger Size Quality of ingredients: Great! Bacon slightly overcooked. Taste - 7.7 Presentation - Beautiful Ambience of Location - Quiet on a Thurs lunchtime. Value for Money: Pricey - $16, but with the additional surcharge, $17.50 which edges over to Pricey. Overall Satisfaction: 7.5
On my top 3 list of best burgers in Brisbane. Fresh, juicy, meaty burgers with rich beefy flavor. Don’t skip on onion rings and fries - they are delish! Pro tip - get cheese sauce and pour it over your burger for that extra richness punch that will send you into a food coma
I was a regular at Charboys when they were based in the CBD. Since the move, I’ve only been there a handful of times but without a doubt, they’re still one of the best burger joints in Brisbane! Consistently great burgers packed full of flavours with some crazy good seasoning on their fries. Even the veg options are tasty. Good to see some new additional items to the menu as well! Glad to see a small business grow and continue doing what they do best. Great work guys!
Pretty tasty patty. It had a bit too much sauce in it with the 3 different ones though. Add a brioche bun and it just makes it a tad too sloppy after the halfway stage. Still good though. I wish there was a 1/2 star because it is 3.5* for the record.
After not having visited Charboys in well over a year I made a 30 minute detour to visit. The staff were about as friendly as any other fast food restaurant. The burger was ok, definitely didn't have the same magic it use to. And the milk shake... Well it wasn't great. Also not being served a jug of water was what tipped me over the edge, what happened Charboys? This use to be my favourite burger place, I would recommend everyone to try it, but now I can't say that I'd recommend it to anyone. ----------------------------------------------- My original review from 2019 The best cheese burger I've had. What you get is the beautiful cheeseburger that every burger joint uses on TV. The taste is great. You'll go for the food, not the atmosphere, by that I mean you can get your burger and walk 3 minutes south to one of the nicest views in the city.
Ahh I missed having char boys in the city. Bit of a drive but worth it. Chips were delicious and fulllllll of flavour and had a good crunch. Burger was fresh and just as I had imagined. Cheese sauce really probs unnecessary but had to go all out.
Very quick service. Burgers came out looking wonderful and tasting delicious. Very nice atmosphere as well. Nice selection of burgers and options. Highly recommended. Treat yourself and give this place a go
I had an amazing vegetarian burger and my boyfriend a scorcher burger. soft patty and fresh salad. We both love the burger, also the crunchy, tasty fries with cheese sauce. Nice restaurant and friendly staff. Best burger in Brisbane
