Reviews
We came here after seeing so many amazing reviews and people saying it was one of the best Indian restaurants in Adelaide, so unfortunately our expectations were quite high. We left feeling extremely disappointed.nWe ordered the butter chicken, rice, onion bhaji, cucumber raita, and a few different naans. Sadly, most of the food was very underwhelming. The butter chicken in particular was awful. It was completely tasteless and honestly reminded us of a jarred, ready-made butter chicken sauce. For a dish that should be rich, creamy and full of flavour, this was incredibly disappointing.nnThe naans were also extremely oily, which made them difficult to enjoy. The onion bhaji was okay, and the sweet mango chutney was probably the highlight for us. The serving sizes were genuinely very generous, which we appreciated, but unfortunately, good portion sizes don't mean much when the food itself isn't enjoyable.nnWe really wanted to love this place after hearing such great things, but based on our experience, the food simply didn't live up to the hype. Perhaps we caught them on an off night, but we left feeling very disappointed and wouldn't be rushing back.
Delightful Flavors, But a Few Quality Control Hiccups.nWe visited recently and loved the flavors, but the experience was let down by a few oversights.nUnfortunately, we found hair in two separate dishes. When we informed the staff, they promptly took away the affected food along with the plates with chapatis. However, the service became a bit disorganized: they forgot to bring fresh plates until we asked, and also forgot to return our chapatis.nOn the positive side, the staff was polite, freshly made new chapatis once reminded, and generously did not charge us for the two dishes.nThe kitchen clearly knows how to build great flavors, has great talent and the staff is well-meaning, but there were noticeable lapses in quality control and table management during our visit. With better kitchen protocols and smoother communication on the floor, this could easily be a top-tier spot.
I was suggested to try this place. I didn’t know you need to book. The staff was kindly able to have a table for us.nnFood was nice but I personally think it’s overpriced with the amount of food in each dish. Serving is quite small.nnOrdered:nTandoori mixed platter $29.50nMango Chicken $21nKaju butter masala $19.50nLamb Korma $22.50nGarlic naan $4.50nKashmiri naan $5.90nKingfisher beer $8nnNote:n• They gave papadam 2pcs on the housen• For me it was quite stuffy inside. With the kitchen opened and seemed like it has no ventilation from the kitchen, everything was inside the restaurant.
We had dinner at this nice little restaurant.nnAll of the items in tandoori mix plater were well cooked and delicious.nnWe tried vegetarian and non-vegetarian mix plater as our mains. All of the curry were good and delectable. They were not too mild - not too spicy. you can always ask them to make according to your likes.nnWe were expecting long wait time to get our food as it was busy Friday night but surprisingly it was quick.nnBit disappointed with dessert. house special ice-cream.We have ordered mango ice cream.nnOverall, it was a great dining experience at this restaurant with good and quick customers service.nnExtensive menu with justifiable price, plus some daily special on the wall, large car park.nnThank you Chapati House 2.
Booked for dads birthday dinner. Great menu, fabulous, friendly service. Food absolutely delicious!! Every dish was fresh, full of flavour & generous portions. Eggplant Masala a stand out! A new local favorite for our family and friends. Can't believe we didn't try sooner.nThank you.
