On an observed Christmas Eve evening, I visited here for dinner on recommendation. There is a wide range of traditional Indian dishes to choose from, and wines to follow. I was able to order their Vindaloo Lamb curry alongside freshly made garlic naan bread, and it did not disappoint. Although their Indian hot was not as hot as I was expecting, the staff were kind enough to let me know that you can further increase the spiciness as required if it is not enough. The lamb was soft and tender, while the curry was not too overwhelming and was perfect with naan and basmati rice. Their interior layout is noteworthy, with chairs that look like thrones and they even have wheels for easier maneuvering! I will be returning for more for sure, would absolutely recommend!
First time trying the curries here.. Highly recommend the Goat Butter Chicken and Chand Special Nann bread!! Definitely will be back soon for Indian cuisines.
First time in this restaurant, food was incredibly delicious, staff are so friendly and always checking if everything is ok or if we want something else. Tables around always clean, and something cool the chairs very fancy also has wheels.. Just a suggest.. Should be nice if the illumination was brighter and also do more attractive to call customer since the main door because looks boring without grace, make feel to the customer we are coming to a little place of India.
My nan bread is burnt pretty bad. Price is also increased. Quality check must to be improved.
It is the best place where you can have Indian meals in Auckland. Their garlic and cheese naan is a super star. Thanks!
Customers beware, Chand Rothesay bay has turned into the worst most disgusting Restaurant. if you want awful service and food poisoning then come on down. Management is better than food. Was served raw chicken in a dish. Then I got the blame for chicken being pink and under cooked was refused an apology or refund. All I got was that is the food, like it or lump it and don't order again. I will send photos of this food to those who can shut this place down. Please don't risk your health on this restaurant
The curry I ordered had a decent amount of spice, but no flavour to back it up. Thin sauce that tasted worse than the stuff pataks makes. I think most of the flavour in the curry came from the hair I found in it. Naan was pretty good. This is the first time I've ever chosen to eat my garlic Naan without the curry rather than with it. Mango Lassi was sweet and flavourless. I know that's kinda the point of mango Lassi but still I've had better from the supermarket. Staff were nice, but food was meh.
Amazing food and great service. The food never fails to impress especially the cheese and spinach naan it is my favorite. Overall 10/10 experience!!
For the very first time, the owner wasn’t at the restaurant and this is how we got served by the staff. Called at 9.01 pm, to order entrees, so that the order will be ready by the time , we will reach the restaurant. A girl answered the call and told us that they are closing at 9:40 pm, and after that there won’t be any staff after that to serve us, so they have to take our plates regardless and we have to leave. Since we are regular customers, I found it quite weird, but we thought it’s fine , we will leave at 9:40. Reached the restaurant around 9:15pm and saw one table eating their dinner and both the girl’s in quite rush. We have been given menu and we placed the order for mains right away, 9:22 girl came along with dinner plates saying i will give you the main plate straight way because your mains is coming too, and then came the malai tikka , which was undercooked, i told the girl that its not cooked, and then heard the yelling from chef saying its cooked. My husband went and said can you please eat infront of me . He couldn’t cut the chicken with butter knife, and still saying I couldn’t cut it but it’s cooked. Then chef has the audacity to ask that how long we have been eating chicken for?? And saying he is been cooking for 20 years. I understand not everyday is a good day. And I definitely don’t seek five star restaurant service. But we have working in food industry for quite a while, but today i was shocked to see what a nightmare this restaurant has became. I think when a person decide to go a restaurant to eat. He/she may have planned that they will a great time but today’s experience truly showed us that we cannot except anything at all definitely from this restaurant anymore.
Supreme Indian food. Quality to the last. Nice service. I asked for their best Chicken dish they delivered. Miles ahead of places like Bollywood. Very Authentic. Do it tasty as ....
