Story

Chan Chan was established in December 2014 by the same team from Bocados Spanish Kitchen Newcastle.

This is our take on Peruvian food, on a Peruvian cantina. Here as well, we would like to share with you food that brings back and creates memories; music and celebrations that make us feel alive. We want this restaurant, just like Bocados, to be your place to catch up with friends and family. Where the food and wine are aimed to contribute to your vivid conversations and simply to enhance the experience of your time spend with the people you care about.

Delicious, tasty and hearty food! A food lover's delight!
So after watching Food safari on the ABC on Peruvian food I looked up google for a restaurant and found this gem of a place. I highly recommend it. Staff are really great and helpful. 10/10 will be back.
Very cosy, unique cuisine. The service was with a smile and food was sumptuous. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to try something new.
Absolutely delicious. The food and wine is so much better than we had anticipated. It was excellent.
Delicious food and good service at a pretty good price, very good value on the Entrainment Card. Fairly casual setting, with some humorous mixes of the existing kitsch and South American decoration, tiny tables. Very enjoyable, get out of your pub food comfort zone!
The staff were friendly, the meals tasted great and the service was prompt. It's great to have a new variety of tastes in Newcastle! I was concerned with the price though when the dishes largely consisted of potato. That being said, it was a lovely experience and I would definitely come back to try the huge range of things on the menu.
Delicious menu, great selection of Chilean beers and excellent service. Perhaps the plates we ate off could have been larger, especially trying to juggle our spatchcock on them. Beautiful meal.

Fantastic restaurant, one of my favorites. Delicious food. Highly recommend trying the “Anticuchos de camarones“, tastiest garlic prawns that I could happily eat every day, and the Pisco sour is a treat! Always wonderful service by friendly and helpful staff.
