I went to Cerin Pasticceria, and I have to say it’s truly an exceptional place. Everything I tried was not only beautiful to look at but, most importantly, delicious to eat.nnThe focaccia with mortadella, stracciatella, and pistachio was out of this world: soft, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.nThe pistachio croissant was incredibly soft, with a rich and delicious cream.nThe Ferrero Rocher croissant is a bomb for anyone who loves chocolate, hazelnuts, and almonds — definitely a must-try.nnEven the coffee and their lemon and raspberry granitas were a delight: fresh, intense, and very well made.nnOverall, the entire pastry selection is of the highest level. Beautiful products, carefully crafted, and absolutely delicious.nI highly recommend this place — one of the best patisseries in the area.
The pastries were yummy. The café has a really great vibe, cozy but still lively, which makes it a nice place to sit and unwind. Its central location is a big plus, especially for catching up with friends.Overall, a lovely little spot I’d happily visit again.
What does authenticity mean to you? Better still, does it even matter in the age of AI and endless filters that can polish every photo and video into perfection? I would argue that it matters immensely. We still live in an analog world governed by our senses: hearing, touch, sight, smell, and, most importantly for me, taste.nnDuring my first visit to a pasticceria this weekend, I was reminded why authenticity still resonates. We arrived in Woolloongabba on a Sunday morning after my walk, moving at that unhurried weekend pace that feels earned. My wife and I had agreed to work our way through a short list of pastry shops I had earmarked, and Cerin Pasticceria quickly leapt from the screen as the morning’s clear choice.nnThe footpath was already alive with conversation, coffee cups, and the quiet contentment that defines an easy Brisbane morning. Navigating the maze of tables and benches, and carefully avoiding the occasional wagging tail beneath them, we made our way to the doorway. A sign reading “Please queue here” caught my eye. With only one person ahead of me, it seemed unnecessary. I would soon learn otherwise.nnInside, the space opened into bright light and the undeniable centerpiece: a large L-shaped display case filled with an array of Italian pastries so beautiful they bordered on theatrical. Rows of glossy fruit tarts, cream-filled treasures, delicate cannoli, and layered cakes formed a tableau that demanded patience and restraint.nWe were greeted by Lexi, who cheerfully asked what we would be having. I suddenly felt the pressure of the growing line behind me. Choosing a single pastry felt like a Herculean task, so we opted for several to share. Our eyes were convinced, but the real question remained: how would they taste?nnWe took a seat by the window and began our sampling. My first impression was that the ingredients were top shelf. My second impression was that each item carried a sense of care and intention. My third realization was that this same care seemed to extend to everyone working in the space. There is an ease and warmth here that cannot be manufactured.nI had the pleasure of meeting owners Giuseppe and Matteo, who migrated to Australia more than a decade ago. Giuseppe is warm and effusive, a hospitality veteran who dreamed of bringing the Italian café experience to Australia. Matteo is the craftsman, focused on distilling the essence of Italy into each bite. In just two years of operation, they have created something that feels established, personal, and unmistakably genuine.nnTheir approach is pro-customer, pro-community, and grounded in pride of craft. This is not simply a pastry shop; it is a neighborhood gathering place that happens to serve exceptional sweets.nAuthenticity is not a marketing slogan here. It is something you can taste.nOttimo lavoro, continua così!
Absolutely delicious. Like… DELICIOUS. I didn’t even manage to take many photos from my first visit because my mouth was literally begging for everything on the menu nBut from what I did photograph my second round, you can see how fresh, beautiful and tasty everything is.nnThe pistachio croissant? Perfection. Sweet, but not overly sweet, super light, super flavourful, just right.nThe coffee was good, maybe just felt “average” next to how incredible the food is the food steals the spotlight, honestly.nnThey don’t have many tables, so if you’re planning to sit in, you might need to wait a little… but for me it was totally worth it.
The sweets I got were pretty good. Wasn’t a huge fan of the drinks hot chocolate wasn’t sweet and had a weird taste, long black was weak too.nnHowever, I loved the citrus tart and passion fruit tart. The atmosphere and deco were also nice.nnThe tables are limited so we were just able to find a spot. I think more petite tables for two people would be good as they currently have tables that can sit 4 people but most only had two people sitting at them. Tables down the side near the coffee machine/ hallway would work too. Just a suggestion to free up more space.
