Went here to get a taste of French cuisine and was more than satisfied. Very interesting menu that made me want to try literally everything. The typical menu offer allows to get 2 or 3 courses for a affordable price. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. The atmosphere in this tiny room was intimate and pleasant. Highest recommendation!
Place is ok. Some tables are crammed and you can barely get to your seat. There is also def no covid distancing. Appetizers were not great. Burratta served with a ratatouille which left a lot to be desired. Ravioli, although the sauce was tasty, was drowning in it. Main dish of fish and chips had an interesting take and was beautiful but was still extremely bland. There was a lack of seasoning. Intent is there but there is a lack of execution.
Loved the 7-hour lamb, fois with quince, and "fish and chips," which was actually a sophisticated salmon dish. Romantic atmosphere, good service, nice prices, and not overflowing with tourists like the place across the way. Glad we tried it.
Nice classic French bistro with a cozy ambience. Started with foie gras and cèpe ravioli. Next we had 7h cooked lamb with puree of potatoes. Very nice food and friendly service. Unfortunately I seemed to have food poisoning from the foie gras.
Overall food was a hit or miss. We were four people so we were able to test several dishes. I had raviole de Royans which were very good with a great creamy sauce and right amount of spices. I also took the duck magret which i liked very much as well. The meat was a bit gamey which is a great sign this was not a commercial duck, but it can put off some people as it did with our friend who took the same dish. We also took the burrata dish which tasted blend. It would have been much better with something like balsamic vinegar. Similar issue with the salmon. Chef was very creative using cereal as a coating around salmon. Presentation was also great but something was missing in the taste to accentuate flavor Last we got the homemade fois gras which was good. All in all it could have been a fluke that day on some of our dishes. Issues are not deal breaker and could be easily fixed.
I loved this place so much that I went 2 nights in a row! The food is delicious of course, but the people were so welcoming, kind and FUN! There is a wonderful energy here, you won’t soon forget.
Service was great, waiters were very friendly, loved the atmosphere as well however food could be better in terms of portion and taste.
We ate the lamb and the duck. These two dishes really show off their kitchen. This is not a fancy restaurant. It's just a great place to eat. We have eaten here twice and will continue to visit on future trips to Paris. The lemon meringue was the best dessert. The location is on a quiet street in a great part of the Latin Quarter. Oh, and the service was good. I spoke to them in French, My wife spoke in Italian, and our friends spoke in English. They were patient when a member of our party had communication difficulties.
Left the restaurant before finishing, my worst experience in a restaurant in Paris !!!! Burrata lacked seasoning so I asked for some vinegar, waiter seemed surprised, he then asked the lady at the bar who openly criticised my request in front of me, but I did get it in the end and it made a nice difference. Then I asked for another napkin, because I didn’t want to put my fork and knife on the table itself, the waiter quite aggressively just said “why don’t you use that one”, so I explained why, he expressed his bewilderment and he then went to ask the lady at the bar who yet again criticised my decision in front of my face. He then brought 2 napkins of lower quality she told him to gave me one and threw the one for my girlfriend on the table. Then the duck arrived. Not sure if I was punished, but it really was a small piece and unfortunately super salty must have come from a tinned can. So to try to lower the saltiness, I asked for mustard, and the waiter without thinking or checking just said again in an aggressive way “we don’t have any”. By that point I was absolutely fuming. My gf went to the bar lady very politely to ask for some mustard and the lady said why do you need it? Then reluctantly she opened the fridge took out a plastic bottle of mustard and gave it to us. This was just too much. I thought I was going to break something, so I stood up and said we are leaving, complained to a guy who seemed like he was the manager and we still got charged 43 euros when we didn’t even finish our dish !!!! I have never given a 1 star before, and always try to solve the problem internally, but when I messaged them they just ignored me. So to make sure no one lives such a disappointing experience I’m posting about my horrendous experience. Really unfortunate because the atmosphere looked really good and cosy, my gf’s 7h lamb dish was good, but the front of the house was just shockingly appalling. I sincerely hope that the supposedly owners Alexia M & Marianne Q Will read this attentively.
Amazing French food! Not too expensive and not touristy. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere and the waiters were a pleasure!Recommended dishesSoup
