Saw me relatively quickly considering how busy they were. Both workers that helped me out were wonderful - very patient when I didn't understand what was happening and sorted out the problem I had.
The staff operating this branch are nothing but low lives. The Management team here are extremely rude and enjoy bullying the customers. The branch is an embarrassment to Centrelink and should be under urgent review for conduct. Hope this branch is closed down and these good for nothing staff members are dealt with. The behaviour is disrespectful and should not be tolerated. Avoid avoid avoid….
I attended Centrelink at Norwood SA a few days ago after moving house. I was attended by Karlee a very efficient and friendly young lady who helped me through the whole process. I am 75 and it was regarding my aged pension and very daunting. I had to make a further appointment eith more information and attended today to finalise a few details. I was looked after by another Carly again very patient with me and very helpful. I needed to get more info from my bank. Carly kept my appt on pause so that I could leave get the info needed and return to Centrelink straight away. On my return I saw yet another lady, whose name I did not get. She happily sorted out my issues and all is in order. I would like to thank everyone who looked after me. I was not looking forward to my visit there with all my personal information in hand, however I was treated very respectfully and am most appreciative. Thank you to staff at Norwood Centrelink SA
The woman who assessed my claim after 3 years voluntarily taking no centrelink when I could have deserves to be fired. I was on the street due to domestic violence and she didn't even approve a crisis payment despite a police report. Because of this I experienced even more crisis and went hungry. Pretty sure she just saw me with an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander man and decided to discriminate.
I went into the Norwood Centrelink branch in Adelaide on Tuesday 25th January & generally expect visiting to be fairly painful. That visit was the opposite, I was coming in to verify my identity in order to submit an online claim & was helped by a wonderful staff member called Abi. She was very helpful & friendly, sorting out my issue without fuss and still being good enough to be patient with me fumbling around for my reference number Please send Abi my sincerest thanks for her help, made my day.
I have to disagree with the negative comments posted. I went there last week and was greeted by a smiling girl who was absolutely polite and helpful. She asked for the basics, said someone would call me shortly. A young man called Ashley shortly did call my name. He was , I admit, guarded and cool. I responded by not being aggressive, or tense, as I am quite certain his manner was the result of many tense discussions with upset clients. The online system would frustrate anyone, and may send many clients to seek out a human punching bag! I found Ashley relaxed as we talked. He was helpful and looked into my case thoroughly and with attention. He explained all I needed to know. The result was no change to my claim situation, but to me his information - politely given and in a respectful manner - was enlightening and I was fully appreciative. I do think sometimes we fail to understand how hard it must be to listen to angry, frustrated, sometimes grieving clients all day long and not have it rub off on one. A gentle, calm and respectful manner with Centrelink staff may be all that is needed to gain the best result from a visit. I hope Ashley, at the Norwood office, reads this and accepts my thanks. And that young woman who greeted me, also!
Went Centrelink Norwood. Marianne is very nice, helpful and smiling. She made my day. Thank you so much.
Disgusting. And totally misleading about the fact that Medicare and Centrelink were supposed to be together, didn't find out until there. Then they told me to wait whilst heaps in front when with a little bit of logic and less stupidity they could have told me to go to another centre where I could have done both without the long wait at each and they wondered why I was choked. Needs serious attention. Being all sweet and nice at the door does not make up for the shocking service and problems. Could I put negative stars in? Wasted my time and life which I resent.
The Center is basically useless. The woman did not help at all. She told me talk to Centrelink over the phone and they will be able to assist you?! Seriously?!
Staff that we dealt with are all friendly, helpful and proficient.
