Been here for 90 mins. Still no service. Staff going on constant breaks as noone on front 4 desks.

Despite massive cuts to staffing, the workers here are always friendly, helpful, and professional. I never have to wait more than a few minutes even though the workers have way more work to share between less and less staff and Medicare and Centrelink have to share staff, now. It's impressive that they can take on so much more work and still give every human being who goes in there a knowledgeable and respectful experience. And there are always spare comfy seats, no matter what time or day I go in there. The building owner should be ashamed of themselves for the disgusting state of the toilets and the rest of the building outside the Centrelink section - they are obviously not paying their cleaners very much because outside the nice clean Centrelink office is dirty and the toilets have wee all over them and poo on the seat (!!!) and none of the toilet paper is in the dispensers - it's just lying on the floor, which is filthy - and the soap dispenser has fallen off the wall and is empty and balanced on the sink. Also, the toilet *room* is wheelchair-"friendly" (if anyone wants to touch the handrails which are not clean), but the *doors* are not wheelchair-accessible *at all* and I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Not the Centrelink/Medicare tenants' responsibility, but I bet they get asked to clean up those rooms even though it's not their job and it's dirty and an OHS hazard. Whoever owns that building is a disgrace. The staff there are great, though, and they never complain, even as their staffing budget is slashed and they have to deal with more and more upset Australians who are being cut off payments or chased by debt collectors. Definitely my favourite Centrelink and Medicare in all of Melbourne, because of the staff and how hard they work and how short the waiting times always are, and the comfy chairs. :)

Find a park longer than 2 hours, bring a packed lunch while you wait.

Was a bit skeptical going in reading a lot of negative reviews. This was our first visit to any Centrelink office in 10 years of being here in Australia. Had to go in to apply for the CRN. Pleasantly surprised at the great customer service. Although, I must say if this were private sector, there would be a greater sense of urgency about the way business is done here.
