The metro platforms, 26 and 27, are located deep underground. It’s true that these escalators are the longest in the Southern Hemisphere—they are giant! Central is a heritage-listed railway station located in the centre of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The station is Australia's largest and second busiest railway station, and is a major transport interchange for NSW TrainLink inter-city rail services, Sydney Trains commuter rail services, Sydney light rail services, bus services, and private coach transport services.
In 2018, I came here for the first time to take the Murray bus to Canberra. On May 6, 2024, my wife and I came here to take the train to visit our son’s residence in Penrith. We were grateful for hid girlfriend who acted as our escort on the way.
Now featuring the longest escalator in the Southern Hemisphere. Central now has Metro access as of August 2024. Come visit this marvel of engineering and an important part of Sydney's transportation history.
