Central Station is Sydney’s main transport hub, connecting trains, metro, buses, and light rail in one place. It’s well signposted, generally clean, and easy to navigate despite being busy during peak hours. Recent upgrades have improved accessibility and facilities, making travel more convenient for commuters and visitors alike.
Going here always reminds me of being somewhere overseas in a big train station. The thrill of travel ignites here everytime. Planning to do it all again very shortly. I should also be planning some trips from Central as well soon enough.
Sydney Central Station is not just a train station and transportation hub. As a building with distinctive architecture that has undergone renovation here and there, it is a comfortable and 'permanent' home for a number of homeless people. In the past, this Train Station only served commuters and XPT. Now the Light Rail Transit LRT is also here.
Sorry for the one star, just wanted to get your attention! On the Metro going home tonight & still seeing e-bikes, thought these were banned from trains. We have all seen the nightmare videos of batteries exploding that one in the lift - OMG! so when I see a bike at close quarters it freaks me out, don’t trust them at all. Why is this not policed? I know these guys are trying to earn a hard earnt crust but & it’s better than seeing them on the freeway yup, seen em! but it’s a question of safety & space, just saying!!
Nicely structured with information of routes on display for trains and metro, signs everywhere for easy navigation between platforms through escalators and lifts. You can access the light rail right outside the station, follow the signs. All the new upgrades of the premises are pretty amazing. There are ample toilets available too. If you are new i would recommend checking your route information on maps where you can also find information about platforms and train timing as there are many platforms and it might take a few minutes to get you across the platforms.
