Good range of products in store. Store brand bikes are, spec for spec, way more than the equal of branded bikes at similar price points. Prices are generally good and the workshop staff are very helpful. You can sometimes stand around feeling a little neglected upon walking in but, once engaged, floor staff are helpful and informative. Recommended.
A good local bike shop and get what you want off the workshop. I like the way how they sell some parts and components from the workshop table where most other independent workshops sell parts off the shelf like expensive packaged brands. I took my bike to fit cables and tune my gears the other day and I was more than happy with the price and service I got. Their bikes are as good as all other top branded bikes.
WARNING SYDNEY CYCLISTS !! - THIS BUSINESS WILL NOT HONOUR THE WARRANTY ON YOUR BIKE. I bought a brand new Cell Fitzroy bike costing $350 and within 6 months two spokes had snapped, one on each wheel. I had them replaced by a local bike shop at $25 each as I wondered if it had been the way I was riding it. Another four have gone in the last couple of weeks on the same back wheel. I was told by local shop that it is because of a poor build or cheap bad quality metal in the bike. I then decided to take it back to Cell Bikes but was told that they wouldn't honour the warranty because I hadn't maintained it well enough. It's not even 8 months old !!! They are also extremely rude and confrontational and offered no solution to fix it. To make matters worse, I had to pick it up and it could barely be pushed out of the shop. They were not at all sympathetic or embarrassed by this scene and barely said a word. I generally find a shared passion among cyclists and shops, and I have never encountered such cold indifference and antipathy before. I am currently taking them to fair trading and reading other reviews, I am not the first to have to do this. You have been warned !
An awesome shop! Prices here are really low, but the quality is excellent. If you want a bike for the BEST value possible - go here. The staff are very knowledgeable, and are able to give you sneaky discounts if you are nice to them! I bought my bike form here, and it has been going VERY strong for over a year now. After just finishing an Olympic triathlon with this bike, I can definitely say it is good quality material. Excellent store, excellent range, excellent online store, excellent staff. This place is just excellent.
The bike which I bought is good quality and am happy for that. But was disappointed with the service and rude salesman. The person who took my bike for service dint know speaking English properly. Not sure if he understood my problem properly. The problem was not fixed and was told he tried his best to fix them. One of my accessory was broken after my service was complete. I noticed that and returned to store after 5 min of taking my bike out and explained the issue. Both mechanic and manager did not agree that they broke it. I had to prove them that it was they who broke it by showing the gum stains which was still wet on the accessory that they had broken and tried to fix it with gum. They were very rude and do not recommend for bike service at cell.
One of the best experiences I had in a bicycle shop for a long time. Knowledgeable and helpful Benjamin was excellent. The range of bikes is limited yet spot on, and prices can be matched to the online rates upon request. Parking right in front of the shop door. Perfect.
I was recently given a substantial gift voucher for this store. So my mission was to spend $300+ in here. The best way to sum up this store is that it is targeted at those new to cycling or the casual cyclist. I rated this as 2/5 based primarily on poor range of items in the shop and staff who didn't seem to know much about that limited range of items. For example I wanted to get mountain bike shorts for a size 32 waist male, and jerseys for a medium t-shirt size. In both cases, there was literally just one item which fits. I'm not unusually short / obese / tall / irregular. At least for mountain bike riding shoes they had two options. My wife, who has not cycled since childhood was also unimpressed. She commented that the range was poor, was not well laid out and she picked up on the limited knowledge of the staff when they spoke to me. In summing up, I managed to get what I wanted and I was ultimately happy with what I got. But this store could make some easy improvements for a better customer experience.
Good product range and decent prices, especially when on sale. Two tips: 1 visiting in-store: call ahead to make sure they have your part *actually* in stock, and 2 check the price of the product on their web site when you're at the counter. If a product's on sale on their web site, they'll charge you the full price at the counter unless you remind them. Happened to me twice so far, first time I didn't catch it 'til I'd already paid....
Do not buy anything from Cell Bikes. Once you place your order it goes into a black hole. I tried calling the number they gave me on the order confirmation and it rang out. I then tried the number on the website and it also rang out. The information on their website about next day delivery to Sydney and shipping in 1 - 3 days in false and misleading. Terrible customer service. Even if the online prices look good I wouldn't risk your money with these guys.
Helpful staff, good accessory prices especially for Sydney and amazing value bikes - recommended to me by an employer at a much larger bike brand when I explained my financial limitations. No regrets. 4 months and several hundred KM done with my City Slicker & no problems.
