Modern church, clean and updated with PowerPoint slides and ceiling fans. Located in the school enter from Dorking road.
Beautiful!!! Daily 1200 mass Mon to Fri so convenient esp for those in the work force who can fit in the benefits of a Holy Mass during their lunch break. Gives the elderly too the priviledge of waking up a bit later on in the day! The brief sermons are spot on...to the point!!!
The Archdiocese of Melbourne has been shaken up by the new Archbishop and his necessary attempts to reign in an inherently large bureaucracy. The challenge for Bishop Peter Comensoli from my perspective, is not only to fix the financial situation, but above all to implement a spiritual change of heart...........Through,With and In Christ. To give just one example,I just read the "mission statements" of all the "catholic" secondary colleges. This was published independently from the Archdiocese and the catholic education system. However the Principals or the administrators of all these colleges, had the chance to inform the prospective parents, on why they should choose their college and what it stands for.Whilst most pushed................................... their"inclusiveness" and "diversity" credentials, the Name of Jesus or Christ, was only mentioned three times. It seems that by adopting inclusivity , the price is to exclude the powerful and Holy Name of Jesus ! Though there is one ray of hope, as Xavier College , mentioned "Our inspiration is Jesus Christ, the model of fullfilled human life."!! Mount Lilydale Mercy College ..."in education, grounded in the Gospel teachings of Jesus Christ"...Sacre Coer mentioned "to discover and reveal the Heart of Jesus through the work of education"! Out of 42 "catholic" Colleges, only three of them mentioned the reason for their existence...To impart Christ, as The Way,The Truth and The Life .a couple of colleges did dare to mention "Gospel values"!...a couple of colleges have the Name of Jesus on their Logos but not anywhere else on their mission description, except The Society of Jesus...as I already mentioned here above Please feel free to ask for the publication "Catholic Schools Guide 2020" ...this glossy edition is distributed for free... available at a catholic parish/primary school, with the help of sponsorship.in order to do a fact check ,if you think I am being a bit harsh or judgemental The publisher pushed his own barrow, on stating that a treaty was necessary with our indigenous brothers and sisters .Another "sponsor " is conducting a competition for a new Australian flag...I presume a more ",inclusive " and "diverse "one.they provided a few ideas on what it SHOULD look like.
On the 15th of August the parish hosted and promoted in their newsletter a transphobic hate tour headlined with Quentin Van Meter, part of a hate organisation in the US. People involved are supportive of conversion therapy for trans kids. There isn't much hope and love for LGBTIQ+ people in this parish. The hope lies in the people who protested the hateful event.
The archdiocese I'm involved with is the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry that I have been with for most of my life .
The church is beautiful and the parisherioners friendly to visitors.
Bright and beautiful Church. Good sermons.
Good to drop in to the Triple Rock
Beautiful Parish.
Always inspiring
