Catalano's Cafe

About

The Original Catalano's Café is family owned & operated for 10 years. We are best known for our huge meals, affordable prices and family casual dining.

Story

The Original Catalano's Café has been operated by the Catalano family for the last 10 years. However over four decades ago it all started, where Catalano's Café stands today.

The Catalano Family- Pasquale and Rosa-Maria Catalano, arrived in Australia in the late sixties and opened the very first Pizza Bar in Victoria Park. It was run as Don’s Pizza Bar and Takeaway until the mid-eighties, customers came from all over Perth and suburbs to pick up their home-made pasta dishes.

During the next two decades the family-being their 2 sons Domenic & Tony Catalano successfully operated restaurants and cafes in the Northbridge area and successfully passing down their cooking knowledge to their own families.

Ten years ago the family decided to return to the original building where it all began and re-launched Catalano’s Cafe in Vic Park.

Three years ago, due to growing customer demand meant Catalano's Café expanded the restaurant to double its’ size in order to fit them all in.

Today Catalano's Café is truly a family orientated business ran successfully by Domenic and Tony Catalano.
With cooking in our family blood Domenic's son-Jason, daughter-Brooke & son-in-law Damien are all qualified chefs and run the busy kitchen, while his wife, Chaemchan managers the front of house.
Tony's son Adam is the day time barista and bar manager.

With our family history, Catalano's Café is something we like to share with all of our customers for many years to come.

We opened 7 days a week for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

It was a good experience. I love the way they welcome the customers, smile and warm welcome. Food was delicious and taste well. I like how generous they are, food portions are big and assure you that you won't feel hungry . I believe that I will try to visit again and try new items from the menu.
This is a very popular Italian restaurant in Victoria Park, been there for years. They have a good selection of pastas, and we really like the Conchiglie pasta with big prawns and scallops, the Caesar Salad was great, very generous portion. Service is always friendly, we've been there a few times, always happy with the food and services there.
Got the big breakfast, great price for what you get, also get a coffee and a juice with it. Staff where very friendly and food and drinks came out fast. Next time my car is in for service ill come back for another meal!
Busy place though they have a large dining space. Service staff are super nice and helpful. Food was great. We ordered the seafood pizza and pasta, and both were quite tasty. Except for a bit of feeling too noisy inside, everything else was nice.
A nice Italian restaurant with a combination of good food and service. We had a really good antipasto to share, lots of nice nibbles. I really enjoyed my wood fired Parma pizza and the pastas my family ordered were good too. We had nice and crispy cannoli with our coffees which were well made. Food came quickly as did the coffees. Free parking is available on a side street. Well worth a visit if you like Italian food
We had a pleasant dinner for a group of 20 on a busy Saturday night. Pro: - We booked over 2 months ago to lock in the date for our friends visiting from Europe, and the process was easy, with no pre-payment required. A great gesture! - mains was very generous in serving size, and they were extremely fast in serving once we ordered on the night! - our chilli mussels, pasta & Parma were all delicious - kids menu was very worthwhile as $20 gets you a mains, a drink & a scoop of their ice cream - parking was abundance on the street, and there are plenty of free parking along the side street right next to John Hughes Car yard Con: - We were split into 2 tables so interaction was restricted somewhat - a side effect of their popularity is that it gets really noisy inside the restaurant during full house, with the hard walls bouncing & reverberating all the sounds - corkage was $5 per person for BYO alcohol - while most staff were efficient, there were a couple of waitstaff who seems inexperienced on the night, but otherwise ok
Went to Catalano with my daughter to have a wood fired pizza - was relieved to see my friend Ignazio making pizzas. We got seated pretty fast was 8pm and the place was still full - orders were taken fast and all was quite smooth. We got our pizzas but there was no sign of our drinks - I looked towards the front desk and was puzzled to see the drinks sitting on the bar and the waitress picking up other drinks ignoring ours. I was about to go get the drinks myself when finally the waitress picked them up I was hoping to get my chinotto and Sprite in a bottle at the table but they were poured at the bar. Pizzas were faultless first time I get food before drinks in a restaurant and I found interesting the mix on my pizza of prosciutto and vegetables - will need to try it again. Well done Ignazio :-
The best Italian restaurant in town. Highly recommended and I will definitely come back again
This place surprise me with their food and services. Staffs not only friendly but professional also. The pizza base is so thin, I like it. Pasta and spaghetti is very cheesy. And last, beautiful wall paper.
Went here for dinner with my cousin. Lovely food and cocktails. Great service too
