Massive venue. Close to the beach. Has a place for children to play. Nice staff who leave you alone once served. Clear interiors perfect to celebrate a special occassion with lots of people. Very happy with what we had here.
First time eating at Castellos in Chelsea on new years evennAs a local, I've wanted to try Castellos for a while now. I'm impressed by the 4 or 5 vegan options on the menu so there is something for everyone. I tried 2 starters and chips so that I could try as many different things as possible. The Bang Bang cauliflower was nice but not seasoned and the batter that was through the cauliflower was still raw. Maybe just needs a lighter coating. Still nice enough. The rolled veg tacos had a nice TexMex flavour and crunchy outer. The broccolini was not part of the dish but was from my husbands meal.nChips were delish. Husband had chicken scaloppini and it was very good. He was very impressed. Drinks were reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. Food came out fairly quickly.nnThe only thing that bothered me was a 15% surcharge on the food. Since New years eve is not recognised as a public holiday in Victoria and there was no mention of a surcharge when i booked or when we were seated or when I ordered I was a bit shocked when I checked my bank account to see that I was charged more then the menu prices. This should probably be communicated at some point.
We visited Castello's Longbeach Chelsea for the first time last night and had a wonderful experience.nA special thank you to Luke, who greeted us so warmly from the moment we arrived. He was incredibly friendly, took the time to explain everything to us, and made sure we were well looked after throughout the evening. It is so refreshing to find staff who genuinely care about their customers and make them feel welcome.nThe food was absolutely delicious. The Sri Lankan curry was authentic, full of flavour, and one of the highlights of the night. The Scotch eggs were outstanding. My partner Mark, who is English, was in his element! He said it had been over 40 years since he'd had a Scotch egg, and this was one of the best he has ever tasted.nThank you to Luke and the team for such a lovely evening. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Castello's Longbeach Chelsea to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.n
Nice decor, cool fish tank and convenient location. Available parking in side streets and on main road, not an issue.nFood was good, generous serving.nWere there as a big group 6 families and didn't book, as we arrived after the kids' football game.nKids enjoyed their meals and climbing in the slides, adults enjoyed their meals and hang time as the kids were also able to socialise.
Nice place, parking out back, clean. Choc chip muffin was flavourless. Fried burritos were dry, had barely any sauce and overpriced for the tiny serving. Vegan schnitzel was pretty good but again, dry and no chilli sauce. Dessert is not really on offer here. There was only one slice of cake in the dessert cabinet even though we were first in and left after 9. Otherwise a nice venue with friendly Friday night service. No offer of hearing sweets.
