Had dinner here on a Saturday night. Place was full so appear under staffed. Took awhile to get our drinks and dinner ordered. Food was great and nice pleasant surround. Good pickup and drop off service so I can have a couple of drinks.
Went to the restaurant up the hill where the Wine cellar is. Told no pizzas but then people after us had pizza.. The seafood platter was so average.. everything over cooked.. frozen and heated up.. oysters were green.. staff did their very best. Venue has been neglected for year.. very run down facilities! Overpriced for what you get.. regardless of the location/view.
Just had lunch in The Vue Bar. We had the Calamari, absolutely beautifully cooked, and tender. We also had pork belly Bao bun, also fantastic, and last, the fresh fish Tacos. All meals were very tasty, and fresh. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend.Service: 4/5
A mix of excellent verses poor. We booked twin beds and got a king bed between my friend and I. This was finally sorted by staff with some hesitancy but were compensated. Walking to the room there are no lights and minimal signage to the restaurant. Staff are wonderful however no cutlery such as teaspoons or sugar for coffee were available in the room. We found out on site that the heated pool wasn't working which was the main reason for booking. View is beautifull and staff are great however quality touches and website needs to say what is actually available and price needs to reflect this
Apparently kitchen staff had walked out the day we went to the vue bar . There was one staff member on the bar and the poor guy looked overwhelmed. There was a huge line of people waiting to order food and drinks. Some of the food we ordered never came out . Such a shame given how much we paid . Management you need to make sure you have enough staff on - especially on the days you know are going to be busy. Super disappointing. Please lower your prices if you cannot maintain good service .
Ate here last Thursday night, 30 minute wait for a drink then wrong drinks served. Worse raw fish I’ve ever seen/eaten, followed by a dehydrated lump of snapper served on what looked like supermarket slaw. Disappointing! Definitely not 5 star dining! Definitely would not recommend!Service: 2/5
Neat place with nicely maintained grounds nestled close to gorgeous parts of NZ. Comfortable bed, spacious room - unfortunately however I wouldn’t call the lodge rooms 5 star at all - the rooms are very tired. The air con was redundant and did not help cool the room at all. The pool was very unkept as of this morning, about 8:30am with plenty of debris and dead bugs and some algae buildup & and ‘infinity pool’ that was not filled completely. Vue Bar was good for a quiet drink, the restaurant for breakfast was ok relatively small portion for the price and the service in the restaurant was… ok. Overall, decent stay, but unsure on the $400+ p/night price tag.
Lodge rooms were spacious, very comfortable bed but certainly not a five star hotel. Tired interior / bathroom. Non blackout curtains which makes sleeping a bit difficult. Food was nothing crazy gourmet eitherRooms: 3/5
Looking a bit untidy. Gardens aren't being maintained to any standard. Dress code of staff was lacking. Golf course seems to be lacking the extra care. Something not good. Hope they sort it soon er rather than laterService: 2/5
What a wonderful setting. Enjoyed our anniversary dinner here very much. Thank you chef. Wait staff on point except for a staff meeting in the middle of service...our main had just been delivered and hubby needed to get up himself, for cutlery....other than that.....lovely So today we went back to the new bar with our family up here for Christmas. It was 2pm so the chef said no to meals in the restaurant which is fair enough, he would never get a break if he didnt have a shut off point so we headed to the bar instead, out of about 10 things on there menu, we were given 4 to choose from, again all good we found somethings we would all eat. So our food was delivered in quick time however with no cutlery, after asking for some, the waitress said she would be right back with some but never returned, we were also not served any napkins to wipe our now finger food. Bar was busy and food was average.
