way too loud. i wanted to come here as i used to go to the library often when i was younger, but now that i am older and in need of a quiet place to study i realise that it was clearly not designed with vce/uni students in mind. walls in certain areas of the library are echoey, especially around the meeting rooms. a few scattered tables attempt at making a hospitable study area, but noise levels are still too high. no charging ports near tables. this library NEEDS a designated study area with soundproofing and charging ports. study pods could be a solution to this. another solution could be to build a wall in an already existing section of the library to close the area off from sound and children. i would have given it one star. the only reason i gave it two was because the children clearly enjoy the library, and i myself borrowed many books from this location when i was younger. i will be happy to update this review in the future if changes are made to allow the library to function at a usable standard for those in need of a place to study.
I returned a book that my daughter had accidentally spilled some liquid on it. They made me buy the book because they now considered it damaged and can no longer be in circulation.
The libraries are supposed to be quiet. They should do something about teenagers just coming to have their snacks and laugh & talk loudly. I swear it’s louder than a shopping centre. Otherwise the library is nice and clean.
Professional, supportive staff, very inclusive environment. My kids love this place.
I wanted to join the local library to use some of the E-Learning resources available through library membership. The friendly assistance was great and I was sorted out in no time! Many thanks
It was fantastic Alese was so kind & helpful Most appreciated
The general layout, the books, and the staff are fine. But this place servers as a KINDERGARTEN first, and sometimes as a quiet peaceful library... you'll hear kids crying, shouting, running around carelessly. I understand the urge for getting children involved in library and learning activities, but I am strongly against doing those activities in the open where everybody else needs silence. There should be dedicated rooms or locations suitable for those activities.
I can't fault anything about this library from my perspective. I am always happy to take my daughter to read books and do school holiday activities. All staffs are very kind, friendly and professional. Definitely my favorite place to drop by! However I understand some ppl complained about lack of some quiet space to study or do uni assignments.
Staff don't appear to be the friendliest bunch, and if you're looking for a quiet place to study, this is not the library for you. The library is often so loud that it defeats the purpose of actually going to a library, the secondary students often take up majority of the library for socialising which leaves people who actually want to study with no place to go
First and last time here for a study space. Absolutely no where to find a quiet space for uni study. Too many distractions of talking and general noise from both staff and patrons. It was less distracting sitting outside on a park bench at the rear of the library. This library, as a combined learning centre does not cater for those who need space for intense university study in terms of reading writing, and researching.
