Carlton Gardens is a beautiful and peaceful green space right in the heart of Melbourne. It’s a perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy some nature after exploring the city or visiting nearby attractions like the museum. The gardens are very well maintained, with wide pathways, open lawns, fountains, and plenty of shaded areas.nnOne of the highlights is the stunning view of the Royal Exhibition Building, which adds a strong sense of history and character to the surroundings. Walking through the gardens feels calm and spacious, even though it’s so close to the CBD. It’s ideal for a leisurely stroll, sitting with a coffee, or just taking a break on one of the benches.nnThe gardens are also great for solo visitors. It’s quiet, safe, and not overly crowded, especially on weekdays. You’ll see people walking, reading, picnicking, or just enjoying the atmosphere. It’s easy to spend anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour here depending on your mood.nnOverall, Carlton Gardens is a lovely spot that balances history, nature, and relaxation. Whether you’re visiting the museum, taking photos, or just need a peaceful break from the city, it’s definitely worth stopping by.
Really beautiful public garden. Some nice small lakes that always have cute baby ducks with their parents. A lot of nice grass areas for picnics. Great views of the royal exhibition building and the fountain. A kids playground. Great for running around or through as well.
Great garden. Great kids playground. Great green grass, great thick plant sections, great old trees providing great cover.nJust had Xmas lunch picnic with groups of us joining to make one large feast. Beautiful day in a beautiful park eating beautiful food.nOnly one negative is the state of the toilets to use nearby. Pretty nasty, & this is from a guy taking a piss, not having to sit on the seat nI would say it's to be expected on a busy Xmas day, but they're actually like that a lot. A bit more council attention required of the council's public toilets please.nOther than that, an awesome day in an awesome park
Carlton Gardens is a perfect place for a walk in Melbourne city. The garden is very clean and well maintained, thanks to the dedicated staff. On a sunny day, you can enjoy beautiful scenery in every direction. Tram routes 35, 86, 96, and 30 run near this garden, making it easy to access.
A garden located near the city. This one is a very nice place to visit. The garden is wide, quite big, and has many different attractions as well, such as Melbourne Museum, Royal Exhibition Building, and more. It is very clean, well maintained, and also aesthetic, great for taking pictures as well as having picnic here. Definitely worth visiting here in Melbourne.
