Soggy chips are not really acceptable. Burgers were average. They have to lift their game as there are many better options. At least the young man who served us was polite. It is quite sad because I remember when it opened it was amazing. I cannot recommend this place.Food: 1/5
Utterly useless as a destination. Seven adults entered at 6.20pm aka dinner time for a quick meal before the rest of the night. Went to order, kicked back out into the cold.Dine in closing. Short drive to Burger Fuel Mission Bay. The service exemplary, burgers and fries superb. Truly up sized the experience.
Saddened because we just went in and they were closing the diner/eat in area. It is my birthday and I was with my family. We wanted to eat out before going to a dessert place. We had no idea that they would be closing early except for drive through. Then they just lock the doors. Many others also tried to enter but were disappointed to see people eating inside while the doors were locked. I like Carl's Jr. But it's was suppose to be a nice night out just this once. Burger fuel is still open, we will go there instead.
If you like waiting almost an hour and a half for soggy cold chips and cold burgers then this is the place for you! I ordered Uber Eats from Carl's Jr St Johns and the driver had to wait more than an hour after the app said they were "wrapping up" before they finally handed him the order. He took it straight to my house, arriving less than 10 minutes later, but it was stone cold. Clearly the staff had served it ages ago and just not bothered to do the drinks and hand it over to the driver. The whole thing sucked for me and for the driver, who had to waste an hour waiting for the incompetent staff there. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be the norm. Definitely a place to avoid!
Extremely poor handling of customer service. We arrived at the store around 10pm, to get few items as take away. Initially we went in, stood there for ten minutes before we were asked “hey guys - are you Uber?” Which Uber sends two people to pickup food? Then we were told the store is shut - although the closing hour is still one hour away. We then proceeded to go to drive through as other people were queued up there. Stood in line for another fifteen minutes only to get to the microphone and be told “sorry guys - we’re closed for the night.” Us: It’s not eleven yet, are you not open until eleven?” Them: “Sorry - we have to close early tonight.” At this point, cars are coming behind us too waiting in line. Man - we drove half an hour to get to you. How about some courtesy sign saying what your working hours is at the very least? Or attending to people as soon as they come in instead of keeping them waiting? Or perhaps giving them accurate information so that they just don’t go around waiting for you? The very least - put an orange cone in front of the drive through so that nobody gets in, before telling people you’re closed for the night? What the hell is wrong with you - whoever was in charge last night.
Easily the worst experience I've had at a fast food business! arrived at 10.20pm at the drive-thru as it was past walk-in hours, waited 50mins because the service was so slow this landed me at 11.10pm, which is 10mins past their closing time 11pm that is listed on their Google page. I finally get to the window and am asked am I a Uber, I replied no and was told sorry we are no longer taking orders as it's past open hours, I said I've been waiting in line in well before closing time, the worker responded we actually closed at 10.30pm we are only taking Uber orders and we are short staffed so that's why we are still open. First off that's not the customers problem that the owners don't use more staff on a Saturday night of all times to not have enough staff on hand, secondly the worker says closing is 10.30pm but it's gpage says different if they don't want new customers showing up the owners should have updated the business hours to reflect the truth. Thirdly why are Uber orders taking priority over customers willing to order in person? The guy sitting at home waiting for his Uber Eats order is already willing to wait since they don't even leave their house yet the staff here are giving priority because you refuse to let Uber pickups come through the main door, instead forcing them to compete for a spot in the drive-thru with customers who don't work for a delivery company are left in the lurch because why? You don't have enough staff? On a Saturday? What a joke the owners should be ashamed of the management here and the lack of care from their staff, Never returning here as this is a on going problem at this Carls Jr.
I went to store at Merton St John's. Was highly disappointed was servered by a woman then she asked another staff member to complete the service. This young man asked if we were dinning in or taking out my husband and I responded dinning in.... He goes away and return's saying that he's sorry but the manager said there's no dinning in restaurant. My husband and I replied your sign in the drive thru says only dinning in. He once again apologies and said it's what the manager said. While waiting for our order a couple comes in place there order. My husband and I left with our order and sat in our car out side Carl Juniors eating our food. And I said to my husband look at that, the couple gets to dine in the restaurant and we couldn't. So Carl Juniors your service sucks and I will never dine in any off your chain of restaurant.
Indian lady needs some customer service training. It’s not a great look when you’re taking orders but start answering your phone while doing so… it’s rude… Chips were under cooked & cold & why give table numbers if we still have to collect our orders ourselves.1/10
Website needs urgent update, went with family for dinner on a Wed arvo 5:30pm but dining in was not possible, also some of the items on the menu were not available. Sad to see Carls’ quality and service going downwards…. Cheers - Former Carl’s big fan :-
This place used to be really good, and my last review was a solid 5 stars, but sadly, the quality has dropped. I've visited 3 times recently with different groups, giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it's just consistently bad now. Firstly the service is terrible. Clueless staff, not willing to lift a finger to help, just jaded and inexperienced people working here. Food quality has dropped greatly as well, not tasty and not prepared to the expected standard, and the store is just not being maintained dirty tables and greasy floors. I really hope they turn this around.
