The Best, The Best and The Best! Great fresh food especially the , thin batter, perfectly cooked chips and potato cakes with great prices! Definitely the best FnC shop in the area! Keep up the good work mate and thank you for the free tartare sauce I ran out of a dollar. Really appreciate it!
Excellent fish and chips. This is our go to fish and chip shop in Pakenham. The Greeks are the best in this field, and this place could not be more Greek with Con at the helm. Friendly over the phone and also face to face as is all of the team. The grilled Barra is excellent. Not greasy or oily. Great work team at captain cons!!
Best grilled bara!! Fresh, flaky and not oily at all. Also if you’re a fan of potato cakes they’re the best I’ve had - crispy - fresh and golden Just note they are super popular so you might need to wait. But I’d rather wait for something fresh and tasty then get my order at an exact time at a place where the food isn’t fresh because they get no turnover because they aren’t popular. Popular places are ALWAYS busy so for me it’s a good sign.
Always great service, staff are nice and attentive - especially Con at least I think it is Con. Chips were great - cooked well exactly how I like them, Fish too was nice - butterfish was stupidly soft. only one issue - my chicken croquette was bit overcooked, but in saying that I still ate the inside and is only reason for 4 stars not 5. I will come back/always come back - a great food place
Do NOT go anywhere else for your fish and chips. Beautiful fish. Perfect batter. Cannot get any better than Captain Cons.
Everything we ordered was perfect fish, chips, potato cakes, scallops. Friendly staff. Only downside for us is they don't have pumpkin cakes which we love.
I wonder at the negative reviews of this business. This is no more or less than a traditional Greek Fish and Chip Shop that offers amazing food and a larger variety of fish then most Fish & Chipper's at a reasonable price - if not at an under priced assessment, when you try it. Plus you have the wider selection of fish to select like: Blue Grenadier, Butterfish, Barramundi, Hake, King George Whiting - not to mention their array of shell fish which can be deep fried, fried or just plain grilled. This includes the fish too. Like most fish and chippers - it's the fresh and continuously filtered oil that really makes the difference to the purity of the food your pay for - and with all of these establishments - you can taste it with the deep fried chips. it honestly should be a measure with fish & chips shops Chips are supposed to taste like potato and if luxurious, a slight taste of flavoured oil but this is not a gourmet restaurant - and it should be appreciated for the fresh, crisp, hot and clean products it provides. Superb! Lastly, as this is a Greek Fish and chip store - they also offer Souvlakis and Gyros Properly pronounce - yeeross. For those who don't know - a souvlaki is not a kebab - and in my opinion, a kebab is close but a souvlaki is perfection - and this place honors that tradition with delicious lamb pieces - and not a large shaved rotating cooked spicy lamb roll. Other meats and veggie options are available. Burgers are also available but i haven't tried them. So lets assess the store and its operation: 1. It is very anti-internet or internet based delivery systems - which is understandable considering the mark ups. You will only know about this business due to google - and im not even sure that this amazing cookery is aware of it. 2. The prices are extremely reasonable if not a steal for the quality of a local Fish and Chip store and the offerings of seafood they provide. 3. On most occasions if you order a pack that includes 4 potato cakes - you will get five this may not be typical of most local stores - it is never expected of the customer but they do it on occasion which is special 4. The customer service is average/good - unless you are being dealt with by Con the owner - who genuinely is a great guy - to be fair - due to Covid, there has been many new faces in and out of his business and this is just a guess and i would classify any customer service dis-satisfaction with the age of the workers and that they haven't been there long enough to learn everything. 5. Lunch packs are amazing value See Photo - if you want a cheeky deep fried indulgence ladies, grab a girlfriend and grab one of these and split it between you. Talk to Con and see if you can get an additional salad not on menu atm for the same price and your $20 Friday lunch is sorted. 6. You can pre-order if you are local or regular so if you have to travel a bit to get lunch or dinner - you can call the number. Give your name, order, and while you are driving home to Pakenham you can time your pick up on the Friday CBF cooking night for the family and enjoy a full pre-cooked belly with a glass of wine/bottle of beer. Job Done. 7. Close on Mondays & Tuesdays It's a great Fish and Chip place - full of options for lunch, single dinner, couples dinners or family deep fried salted or tomato, or whatever dressing you drown it in madness of hot comfort on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. I hope you experience it and feel the same.
Ordered the dinner pack and they serve alot which is great. I had to put some aside as I couldn't finish it, but for $28 it's to be expected. But I'd suggest that the pack should come with a can of drink. Parking: Parking isn't too bad but could be better.
Best in Pakenham. The hamburgers are to die for. Anything we order is always spot on. The grilled flake is just devine. Definitely 5
Been coming to cap cons since it opened. Wouldn't recommend anywhere else, for fresh fish, home made chips and a local simleFood: 5/5
