Update: strawberry is fresh and tasty! Recommended! Maybe I came on a bad day, not much of selection I was expecting to see all kinds of fruits. In fact, only saw strawberries, oranges, apples and pears, price is a bit higher than woolies.
A sensational farmers market with lots of locally grown produce. It’s a varied market that has butchers, fishmongers, farmers, bakers and lots of jam makers. Produce is highly seasonal and changes all the time. We loved the massive carrots and the great pie flavours.
I love these markets because there were a lot of delicious food options and the freshest produce. I bought the most delicious grapes here. I suggest getting there early because they get so busy. Bring your own trolley because there's a lot of food to buy.
Great morning out. Can be a little hustle and bustle if you've got little ones - I'd recommend the old shoulder ride or keep them close by.
I absolutely love the Farmers Markets, with an abundance of delicious food from fresh fruit and veggies, cheeses, milk, pasta, chocolate, coffee, meat, deli and bakery items to hot food. It's a nice morning out and best of all, we are supporting locals and surrounding farmers.
More than just a marketplace the capital region farmer's market can be a great outing on a Saturday morning. with a wide variety of stores catering to fruits and veggies, meat products, mushrooms flowers, and baked goods, there is something for everyone. The markets also offer plenty of options to grab breakfast while you shop for the weeks staples with lots of stalls offering coffee, fresh juice, pastries, acai bowls, bagels, and more. Highly recommend trying a fresh, hot jam donut from Uncle Juan's bakery often located down towards the back of the covered shed. While this place tends to get very busy, particularly in the warmer sessions, there is ample parking - sometimes you just need to walk a little further to/from your car. Dogs are not allowed inside the markets and there's almost no need to bring cash as most vendors have adopted paywave style card purchase processing in response to Covid. ATMs are available onsite near the front entrance to the market if you need to use cash.
I love the produce - fresh and seasonal. You get to meet the farmers/producers. From fresh fruit and veg to breads, olive oil, honey, pies, artisan cheeses, small dairy milks, boutique butchers, flowers, hand made condiments, plants and seedlings. Great experience with all the stall holders.
The Capital Region Farmers Market is a great venue for getting fresh produce directly from local farmers. The quality and freshness are second to none. The prices are reasonable, not the best in Canberra but consider the quality, it is worth the travel and price. Lots of fresh flowers and several meat stalls selling high quality pork, beef and poultry products.
A nice place to enjoy brekkie 'pancakes'. Then do your shopping - from a great range of a different variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Same goes for fresh cold deli meats, fish and meat.
Great place to get producss meat, vegies, dairy, etc, baked goods and fresh food from local and regional businesses. Parking is easier when you go earlier. I love the bagels from the bagel place here.
