It's a nice surprise to see and eat a quality meal in a pleasant and comfortable environment. Worth reporting and sharing with everyone. We, a group of 8, found and went here on way back from Adelaide to Melbourne in July. My burger was nicely made, patty was succulent, bread tasted freshly made, and the chips with pinch of salt on top....Oh so satisfying! Everyone of us were very pleased with their food. P/S: They use Molton Brown Hand Soap in their bathrooms!
The staff was really nice and happy to change and/or modify my plate to my wishes. I eat gluten and dairy free. So it was an amazing experience. Service was quick. They have an open kitchen where you can see how clean and tidy chefs are. The bathroom was clean as well which I appreciate highly. The atmosphere is quite pleasant as well. Well recommended
Was recommended to try Capital Bistro for a morning coffee by a local. This venue appears to have undergone some refurbishment and is actually very appealing to walk into - it’s much like walking into the dining facility of a much larger and high quality Hotel. The menus are quite extensive and the staff were pleasant. The flat white I had on this day was delivered warm and weak unfortunately. My partners soy FW included a milk brand she does not enjoy, but she said it was otherwise well made. I’d suggest perhaps bean choice may be an area for improvement to produce consistent coffee quality.
The two stars are for being open on public holidays until late. Food is not worth. Over priced and extremely average. Cannot recommend steaks, dry and tough. Wait staff is good, but the poor quality of food needs to be looked into for the price. Partner got the salmon and the skin was overcooked and burnt. This place will have great potential but needs to improve on food quality.
A very nice surprise to find a great place for lunch. Lots of choices, and I would consider that the prices are very reasonable.
Lovely food all round. The lamb rack was delicious, watermelon in the salad was a bit odd, but didn’t not work! For desert, the little key lime pie was so great. Well presented, great service. 5/5
We decided to have breakfast here on sunday 6/11/22 on our recent trip. I understand they were fairly busy, but they brought out our drinks well before our meals, what was left of drinks were cold by time we got our meals. ordered bacon and eggs with a couple of extra sides, asked for eggs flipped and cooked so not runny, came out sunny side up and very runny, they took back sat on grill for probably 2 seconds and left them very runny still. my daughters eggs were poached but still white jelly inside, and had to get new ones. bacon cold, toast cold. ordered potato gems as a side, they served me 7 gems for $5.00 thats $0.70 per gem, sausages were also $5.00 and had 2 little sausages, or should I say pieces of sausage, I am sure they cut a full sausage in 3 or 4 and gave me 2 pieces, they were smaller then little franks! for the price we paid we should have walked away happy, but very disappointed. Have crossed that 1 off the list
While it looks nice, it's hard to give Capital praise for much else. The staff were either rude or slow. We popped in and just ordered the finger food platter of meats, cheeses, breads, etc but they forgot multiple items. When we would request the crackers, hummus, or even plates that they forgot to give us, the server would just huff at us. I know it's a small-ish town and we were passing through. Maybe locals get another level of treatment. But if you're on the trip from Melb to Adelaide like we were and looking for a bite to eat? Go elsewhere.
Went there tonight for our 19th Wedding Anniversary. Hubby had the pork belly and sticky date pudding and I had the Chicken Parma and Chocolate Brulee Smores. Absolutely amazing and delicious food. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Sat down for something new. Great lunch, lots to choose from. Service with a smile. You can also get a coffee and cake on the go with driveway service.
