Very slow service, 50+ minutes for 4 dishes. The Prawns were good, but the rest was a bit odd - salt and pepper squid bodies? Parking: Big free parking lot, but it's on the other side of Coventry Village and many of the doors to it are closed and locked at 9pm. Wheelchair accessibility: Long push from the car park but pretty flat. The car park is another matter and the doors leading out to the disabled bay are closed and locked from 9pm.
2023 updated review: Been here before for dim sum and had pretty bad experience. However, 5 years later, I’ve updated the review from 1 to 5 stars. Enjoyed a lovely dinner with family & friends here. Friendly customer services which makes all the difference to an enjoyable meal. Every dish was well presented and delicious flavours. Fried tooth fish with soy sauce was one of my favourite. They also serve salt pepper squid tentacles in small or large $24 portions for dinner. They have a room with 2 big tables which would suit private function or party of big groups. I’d recommend getting a reservation before hand just in case as they were packed on the night New Years day we dined. 2017 review: Heard about how the Dim Sums here were so much better than Dragon Palace and is a "must" try. Our 1st dish was the Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling which was just absolutely amazing, definitely better than other dim sum places I have tried. Then the next few dim sum dishes came which I thought was either average or slightly above average. Last dish that came was the Steamed Spare Rib with Black Bean Sauce.... ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED!!! There were absolutely no flavour of the Black Bean let alone the sight of even the tiniest Black Bean. It was so bland, making it the WORST Black Bean Spare Ribs I have EVER TRIED at any dim sum places. Service was an ABSOLUTE LET DOWN, although staff was friendly, food took forever to come out even though we got there early by 5.20pm. Our last dish "Signature Egg Yolk Bun" NEVER CAME, even after enquiring it with the waiter who said he will find out from the kitchen, it still NEVER arrived. We gave up waiting after a further 20mins and asked for it to be cancelled... but the waitress told us we CAN'T just cancel it like that... WHAT??? You gotta be kidding me!! You don't bring out our dish we ordered, yet you won't allow us to cancel it?? After insisting to cancel the bun, waitress had to go and check with the boss for the ok. Finally when we got up to pay for our bill at the counter dying to get out of this place, just had enough, only to find they were still charging us for the Egg Yolk bun AND the Steam Rice WHICH NEVER EVER CAME!! Very very disappointed with this place, don't think I'll be going back to this place and definitely won't recommend it to anyone!!
The dim sum was good. Quality was good and the price was reasonable. I would say one major area that needs some improvement: I can speak and understand Cantonese and Mandarin so it is good and bad. Good is that I can reply. Bad is that I can hear every complaint made by the service staff. Lol.. Not all Asians are Chinese and not all can speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese. So I feel perhaps greeting guests at the door with English would be more appropriate than assuming anyone looking Asian coming through that door can understand the language.
3.5 stars Big family gathering. Three round tables were booked. Six main dishes were pre-ordered. Service was average. No need to wait long for the dishes. Presentation was ok. Large food portion and good value. Quality of food was average to good. Free for Soup of the day and sweet soup dessert. Surprised that the free red bean & tangerine peel sweet soup wasn't bad
Love it here. For yum cha and for dinner. The food isn’t oily, always fresh - doesn’t give you that sick feeling you normally get after Chinese! We dine in, and we get take away and always love it!Food: 5/5
I'm still here as I'm typing this. This is literally the best place for dumplings and squid legs I have ever experienced. From now until the end of time, I will live a sad existence because I will never be able to find a feeling this good again and will forever be chasing it.Food: 5/5
Went there for dinner with my wife and my parents. There was free soup for every one. The dishes ordered were: Schezuan Tofu, Roast Duck, Pork in Special Sauce and Fried Bean Sprouts with Salted Fish. Tofu was good, the duck too dry, too salty. The sauce for the pork was good but the pork too hard. Red Bean dessert was also ordered. Good. Service also good. Price was good as was the environment. Everything came to 72 dollars
Every single dish we ordered was bad. The other yum cha places in Morley are much better. No wonder the whole restaurant was so empty on a Saturday afternoon.Food: 1/5
Shame that they were too busy and unable to make their durian dessert, the Bun was delicious and cute presented, the pork dumplings was nice and just right, staff are friendly.
This restaurant has recently moved a few doors down at Coventry Village to a smaller but more modern location. This restaurant is quite standard when it comes to dim sum, with some stand out dim sum items and others pretty average or not so good. In particular, the siu mai had great flavour and texture but the prawn rice flour roll had prawns that had a hard texture and were flavour-less. Others like the Har gau and spare ribs were just ok.
