I have been coming to this place for over 20yrs now! Restaurant was introduced to me by my in-laws. Never have liked Chinese food but this place changed my taste buds! It’s absolutely mouth watering. We don’t really explore the menu as we only order few regular dishes. Prawns with black chill sauce and chicken fried rice is the best and top selling items! What’s surprising is the flavour has not changed since the day one I had them! Keep up the good work and maybe a tinny suggestion, just need a better customer service and it will be a 5 star! Thank you Vegetarian options: You will be able to order some great vegetarian options. Parking: Free Off street and on road parking available.
Food:3.5/5 We had the crab, peiking duck and the pork with tofu. The crab was very delicious but the portion of peiking duck was so small and the pork with tofu was way too salty. Service:4/5 Service was fast and staff were very friendly.
My relatives have raved about this tasty establishment for years, so I was rapt to finally dine here. My cousin and I booked for 6:30 pm whilst en route on a Sunday evening. We arrived 15 minutes early and were greeted by a smiling server. Our 3 dishes were served within 5 minutes - you can't get better service than that! We ordered a hapuka fish dish, lemon chicken, and stir-fried beans. I've NEVER tasted more delicious beans in my life. And I was raised vegetarian, so I've been around a bean or two - haha The restaurant was busy with a stream of diners. Excellent meals, wonderfully warm staff - and like the Terminator - I'll be back
Visited our fave little cafe after living overseas last 4 years and the staff still remembered me! Friendly, welcoming and food is just the BEST! Feasted on most of our favourites - black chilli hapuka, hot and spicy prawns, steamed dim sims, crispy roast pork and steamed rice. Didn't have room for salt and pepper squid and fried beans with mince and olives so next time. Food did not disappoint, tasted exactly like it did last time we ate. Wish we could pack up Canton and bring it to Melbourne! Will definitely visit again when we are home next.
Awesome food, awesome service, and reasonable prices. I’ve been a Canton Cafe customer for many years - both dine in and take away. I’ve never had a bad experience. Loved it. The service was outstanding and the food was so very yummy yummy. Best Chinese in Auckland. And very handy to the train for those that live further out. So have a train ride and a delicious meal. A laugh with friends and the evening was perfect Food: 5/5
Don't eat Chinese food often but the food here was amazing! Came during a busy time but service was reasonably quick and professional. The jalapeno chicken quesadilla was fantastic! Had a great time and will definitely return!
Tasty food, good portion sizes, reasonable prices, had so many leftovers to take home. Just have to accept quite noisy, and seating is a bit cramped, but that's OK, cos the food is pretty good. Definitely need to book.Food: 5/5
Don’t go there, if you want to hear other guests speak at your table. Saturday 6pm 29/4/23. We had a table of about 25+ aged about 30 “next to us” and the noise and rude language was unbearable lots of F and C words. The food was average and expensive for what we got think we got part of next tables account.The service was unacceptable with having to search for our own glasses, and no water supplied as requested. We asked to go upstairs which was an inconvenience for both us and restaurant. Can’t recommend this restaurant, and you would do better going to a food hall.
The freshest vegetables, meat dishes are tender and tasty. This place looks basic and is anything but basic. My go to for comfort food.Food: 5/5
