Small but a convenient railway station. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The building has a good waiting room with plenty of seating, toilets and a couple of vending machines. I suspect the traffic isn't enough to run a proper canteen on premises. Cat parking is right next to the waiting area and has a good amount of parking spots.
From time to time you can take the old steam train out to Bungendore. Kids all felt they were off to Hogwarts as the old carriages had the separated 8-passenger compartments - good for travelling as a private party. Lots of whistle blowing, plenty of train spotters waving as we passed, smoke and steam seeping in as we went through tunnels. Real world excitement for a change!
Railway station at Canberra city, connected to Sydney by NSW Trainlink service. The station is clean with necessary passenger amenities. Parking lots outside with taxi pickup points. A bit more information on bus services would be helpful for tourists
Travelled from Sydney to Canberra return. Railway station is modern with helpful staff. Checking in luggage was easy. As you exit to your right is taxi rank. Quick way get started instead of waiting for your uber to arrive.
Quaint little station outside of the cbd, centrally located between airport, Fyschwick, Manuka, civic,... just need a taxi. Clean and fresh, train usually on time. Had no trouble getting an uber within a minute!
Clean and comfy waiting area with a lovely view of a patch of outback. Trains are only 2$ for the kids if they're all in the same family. Building is air conditioned and has pretty good access to bathrooms. Definitely one of the nicer country link train stations if caught a long distance train from. Nice surroundings of the station and the trains are cleaned as always when a new train comes in. Overall lovely station.
Parking can be a problem at times but overall the waiting room is spacious and access to toilets is easy. There are taxis and buses to you into the city and it doesn't take long to get off or on the train. All in all it is a good railway station.
The Service was great! Really liked the warm behavior of the staffs and the management. If you’re a student or do hold any concessions card there are discounts available. Highly recommend to check it out if you’re traveling from Canberra to elsewhere.
I recently traveled for first time 1st class on the Brisbane to Sydney Train I got off at Casino only wishing my train trip was longer Absolutely worth every cent I thoroughly enjoyed the service, the carriage, the service but most of all the view Wow just spectacular Thank you for a most enjoyable experience
This Canberra Railway station run by Transport NSW has the most nonsensical opening hours. Their office and luggage drop off room is not even open for business in the middle of the day. It is open for 2 hours then closed for 2 hours, then open for another 2 hours and then closed for another 2 hours. Not a reliable service for luggage drop off or ticket purchase.
