It's a great place for studying with great facilities including 24 hour access to computers, they have a great restaurant and cafe, cheaper prices for hairdressing, a travel agency, student support services and the library staff are super helpful with finding resources, referencing and using printers.
CIT REID is a privileged place for young people in the region who have the desire to improve their knowledge and their quality of life. acquiring knowledge and an integral formation that guided by excellent professors and professionals in the areas of study. They make your future and long-term projects a reality. I studied diploma in graphic design and now I am doing independent freelance work and opportunities to be in graphic design studios in the city. CIT is an educational institution with great opportunities and options in all fields of work for people interested in improving and advancing their lives.
It is an excellent learning facility with very knowledgeable teachers comma that want to instill their knowledge and experience. Where it falls down that is the state of the campus. Some of the facilities are old and quite challenging to get around, particularly when you're in a wheelchair. However, being in one of the oldest parts of Canberra it's surrounded by beautiful trees that display stunning colours in autumn.
Similar with other negative reviews, low efficiency, waste of public funds. Most teachers are under qualified, and some of them have no interested in teaching, just ask students to study by themselves. If u complaint this to their useless head office, the head officer would say “my staff has a really good reputation, it’s not fair if u complain them”. Obviously, too bureaucratic!
Considering this is an 'institute of technology' the state of technology used to deliver learning as laughable. This place still runs on technology from the Y2K era decades old. The disjointed software systems require wall of text template emails from staff to navigate. Worse still the system does not seem to facilitate coordinated department activities, like the ID checks you must repeat upwards of 4 times for each department. The staff are wonderful, but they are obviously being massively hamstrung by the lack funding. I mean our qualifications came through from the IT support desk in the form of an incident response ticket.... I have honestly seen developing countries with better IT.
They do have good materials good course content. but few teachers are not enough qualified. They can't teach very details of course content. Even some lectures are so worst that you can't learn anything from there. I think the reason behind it gov. don't allocate enough fund for this Institute. So the reason they are not getting qualified teachers. However some teachers are really very skilled and provides good lectures.
This place is great. I love the atmosphere, the teachers are really helpful. They didn't make me wait too long for my Cert. Admin is always helpful if you don't a bit off a wait and CITSA are super supportive.
Just spoke with Nicholas. He answered phone straight away and was very helpful.
Agree with Robyn Flynn. I did the same part time course and was in her classes. Pathetic, unprofessional services from the majority of staff....or just a complete lack of response to attempts to communicate. Very disappointed. I rushed to finish assignments in August 2016 to meet due dates while working full time. It's March 2017 and I have had two comments on assignments which just indicated I passes, and nothing else seems to be marked. I've now been told I can't pass as I haven't been marked competent in one of my classes. I didn't get any feedback saying I didn't pass or to resubmit anything, so wouldn't have known if I didn't chase this up. Still no word as to why I didn't pass and it seems not all my assignments have been marked which means I am still waiting 6 months later for a certificiate! Very frustrated, and so are the majority of students from the course. We've been emailing and calling with ongoing issues for months and have been disappointed with every response or lack of response.
Don't bother studying here. Save your time and money studying elsewhere. Teachers are under qualified, and don't communicate accordingly. My partner and I are studying different courses and are having the same issues with the teachers, course content and CIT in general.
