If you want to sleep in black mould infested rooms and be woken up by piercing fire alarm in the middle of the night then this place is for you. When we first arrived in our rooms we were greeted with piles of other people’s belongings including dirty underwear, socks and building equipment. The shower was filled with used toiletries that didn’t belong to us and there was no toilet paper. The male staff were beyond rude and incredibly patronising. Not a very welcoming and social hostel we would not visit again.
Great experience at this hostel, very chill and friendly with attentive staff.nThe common area and rooms are very clean, with daily housekeeping. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped.nnThe manager Briann is very welcoming, and we were received and integrated perfectly.nWe’re not planning to leave anytime soon!!
Good atmosphere, friendly staff, perfect location close to the beach and supermarket. Good place to meet new people. I have been here for a month so I definitely recommend it!nI can't give 5 stars because if you have an important call and need a quiet place, there is no chance, this is the only thing.
I stayed here long term several years back and had a great time as it was ran to be a open welcoming environment. These days it seems the manager Brian can barely be arsed, his general demeanour is that you're getting in the way of him being able to chill out or hang with the abundant French community that seems to have taken over the place. Honestly if I was the owner, I'd be very concerned as to what I'm actually paying the lazy and rude fella for. Such a shame, used to have such a nice vibe, seems to have had a slight physical uplift but lost its soul.
Requires a passport and doesn’t accept birth certificate or queensland drivers license. I don’t have a passport and am born in Australia so why can’t you help the homeless out why do I have to rough sleep in my own country if I don’t have a passport???. Major Lack of empathy.
