The Cairns Aquarium is one of Australia’s most exciting new world-class tourist attractions. Located in the heart of Cairns, this iconic three level land mark attraction will showcase the animals, plants and habitats of the only two adjoining World Heritage protected areas – The Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest. Protecting and conserving the biodiversity of these World Heritage listed ecosystems is the vision and the overriding passion of our founding partners and this commitment underpins our business philosophy and environmentally sustainable business practices.

We did the General Admission & Lunch Combo deal, the Aquarium was a great day for the whole family with amazing displays and something for everyone, but it was the lunch that let the experience down. I wouldn't offer this package in the future as it shows poorly on the aquarium. Next time I will not be having lunch at Squires Loft as it's slow service, not happy staff and food was average for the price. They didn't even know about the combo deal for lunch, which was disappointing and when we had finished lunch they wanted to change me for lunch again even though we had already pre-paid with Combo deal.nAquarium - 5 StarsnSquires Loft - 2 Stars
We visited Cairns Aquarium and had a great time! Everything was clean, the staff was friendly and the education talks were great. We really enjoyed listening to them and learning about the different species that live here, as we are not from Australia. It is one of my favorite aquariums. I would recommend anyone to go and sit in for the education talks as well, especially if you’re not from Australia.
Much more than an aquarium. Includes snakes, frogs, lizards. Highlight would be the walk through the underwater tunnel and the the deep reef aquarium. Definitely better than other aquariums visited internationally.
Maintained and presented so well not as big as Sydney’s Aquarium but decent enough, corals are so best in their environment, some unique species of sea creatures can be seen, overall a fun trip for kids.nStaff are so friendly and helpful and smiling always.
Excellent display and presentation. Check the map for special feeding times etc. Take your own water for drinks. It's close inside, if that sort of thing affects you.nLots of photo opportunities.nnGood restaurant nearby.
