Very mediocre coffee for a central Melbourne alleyway. Two cappuccinos, one came without cocoa, and they were both frothy repeat after me: foam good, froth bad
There is a young girl making the coffee acting like she is busy and run of her feet when there are only 3 customers in the shop and when you go to pay she talks quick like she doesn't have time for you. An Italian looking boy taking orders. I just ordered a coffee and he couldn't even remember that and asked the barista to make me a coffee I didn't even order. If you want decent customer service you won't find it here. Don't waste your time, I wouldn't recommend this cafe to anyone.....unless they change staff....sorry
I ordered a coffee and cake take away because I like my coffee extra hot in a take away cup. I then sat outside in the arcade reading the paper, trying to enjoy my coffee. Until the boss/owner/manager whatever he may be is irrelevant to me attempted to kick me off the table because he had another 2 customers. He advised me that " you have a take away cup"... which meant I can stand and drink my coffee and eat my cake and read the paper? Very poor customer service, definitely won't return. Money hungry mamangment with no consideration of other people. Rude.
Food: Small range of lunch options and cakes. We've only ever had snacks here, and their cakes are tasty and light. Coffee is ok, but not amazing. Atmosphere/service: The service is fine. It's nice how the cafe is in the block arcade. Seating is limited and the cafe is tiny, so it's more somewhere for a quick bite, not a long lunch. Would I recommend it: There are better options nearby, but fine if you are just wanting a simple lunch or snack.
We've been told this place is under new management, and the super friendly staff and quality service made for a welcome change from the 1-star reviews that were delivered a year ago. We returned several times over our trip to Melbourne for an authentic Italian aperativo in the late afternoon, each of which was served with a small plate of snacks to compliment the perfect ratio Aperol Spritz. Thanks for becoming our new favourite hidden Melbourne spot!
5 Stars for Cafe Duomo, I had the pleasure of having the Best Almond Milk Spicy Chai on Tuesday, not many cafes in Melbourne can nail the Almond Chai but these guys well and truly delivered. Definitely worth trying.
Lunched here last Thursday with a friend without reading any reviews etc. Just walked in and sat down. Best pasta I've had in a very long time, beautiful wine, coffee and dessert too! Young Italian women and one young guy waitressing and very attentive to our needs! Cant wait to return for another serve of THAT pasta! YuuuuM!
I am a regular, mostly for coffee. Today I took some of my old school friends there for lunch and all decided that the food and service were excellent. We sat outside in the arcade and were able to enjoy a warm and funny conversation without interruption or unwanted noise.
Okay wow horrible, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone not even my enemies. The owner/old women who served us was extremely disrespectful and down right rude. I was with three others and they all ordered drinks I ordered a water only for the lady the glare at me and say "your not getting a drink", when I said I just wanted water she glared at me again and went inside. When all our drinks came they were extremely small and flavourless as well as being over priced. The water I had ordered came in a kids sized cup and was half full, I was still thirty and had to go elsewhere to get more water as I didn't want to give any more money or ask the horrible old women for more. I would rather die of dehydration than go back to the horrible cafe, if I could give it negative stars I would.
Absolute rubbish. Rude owner. Toast came out dry and hard - asked for butter which we were charged for. Wrong coffees brought out after a long wait and a reminder, correct coffees never turned up. Attitude of owner to situation was disgraceful. Don't go there.
