This cafe is in a lovely lane and we happened to discover it by chance. Found a few nice choices to order. The staff was nice enough to whip up fries even if they were not on the menu and to be honest they were the best of all the stuff we had. Coffee was good. And I also loved the brioche toast. The main food was alright, a little plain even with all those items and flavours, tried hard to finish. So not for me. Staff was nice and welcoming.
Prompt service given the short staff-ing issue's they're facing. Coffee was PERFECT. Atmosphere was good. Food was good though not as described on menu. Prices were standard.
Came here for breakfast. Ordered the Smashed Avo, and loved it! It was served with mushrooms, feta cheese, and kale. The coffee was great too! Very friendly service, and quick.
Been coming here for over 20 years - the facade hasn’t changed. My Reuben sandwich was a little dry. But overall it was acceptable. Wasn’t the best I’ve had. I think they specialize in pastas.
Just had to dine along the Walking Acrade to soak into the atmosphere. Had the seafood linguine and chicken risotto. Not only does it look pretty, it tasted of the sea as well! The seafood were very fresh and crunchy. The chicken risotto was very tasty as well. I could have more of each!
This place is called Brown Sugar now, see menu, not Segovia. Everything was delicious and the location in the Block Arcade is perfect for people watching while eating. Vegetarian options: Brown Sugar had great vegetarian options Wheelchair accessibility: The owner was very gracious and assisted in moving table to make accommodations for our wheelchair.
It used to be one of my favorite cafes in Melbourne but when it gets busy they drop the ball. The juice was ordered without ice and arrived with ice. The eggs Benedict was ordered with spinach and arrived without spinach. And then the prices are ridiculous. $5.20 for a tiny size of a side. No one waiter is assigned to a table. You get 3-4 different people asking if you’ve been served and then things get mixed up.
Please avoid dining at this Cafe!! Me, my partner and my mum had lunch here. First off, 2 food items being the chicken parma and beef burger weren't available and we were only told once we tried to order them. Secondly, my mum and I ordered the STUFFED mushrooms so normally you would think you get a whole portobella mushroom stuffed with cheesewhich the menu stated. Instead, we received a small bowl of chopped salted mushrooms, cheese, and asparagus ends that were uncooked and inedible. We already had to wait a while for our food so my mum decided to keep hers and the waiter agreed that he would remove the 2 incorrect mushroom dishes off the bill. I then asked for the chicken ranch salad. Came out quickly but was drenched in dressing, a small portion pf chicken and bacon drenched in oil. Was so hungry at this point as it was 2:30 so I had to eat it. My partner then went to go pay for the bill and the waiter didn't run through the bill. My partner questioned him as to why it was so much and he advised that we had to pay for the mushrooms. This didn't make any sense as he told us 3 directly at the table that he would remove the cost from the bill for both the dishes. My partner then spoke to the owner who had a bad attitude and no care factor and said 'but you ate it'. She then walked off to the kitchen and didn't come back. I then saw her yelling at the chefs but as an owner, you're in charge and you should be directing your chefs on how the menu should be. No customer service skills whatsoever! The waiter even asked me how my salad was and I told him truthfully that it was not up to standard and bad quality but that didn't really matter as he just said sorry. I have been to many of Melbourne's cafes and I have never witnessed such bad customer service. If this happened anywhere else, they would take the items off the bill apologise genuinely. If you're at the block arcade and need a bite to eat, please go to 30 block place or brown sugar. Don't waste your money coming here! Thank you Ali for trying your best. You were friendly and genuine and we do appreciate you trying. Owner, you're in the wrong line of business.
This is my fav cafe in Melbourne. All staffs are so friendly and kind. But most of all, the taste of coffee was always so perfect! There’s a barista who is really good at making coffees. I’m gonna visit again to have her coffee on every weekend !
Awesome little place in the city. Had the beef burger and I was impressed with the food. Reasonably priced and I think one of the best coffees I have ever had. I recommend all the food as I was a bunch of mates and tried heaps of the dishes. Ambience was great and good vibes, friendly staff. Positive experience
