Set within the Botanical gardens, this is a nice enough place to grab some food. I visited on a wintery day, so needed some warming up in between rain showers. I went for the creamed corn toastie, which was very good for a smaller meal. The place was quite busy, and service was slower because of that, but overall I think it was worth it.
Came here to visit Auckland botanic gardens and had lunch in this Miko cafe. I like the vibe however it was busy and lots of people and kids haha but that's already especially in a public space/attraction. I had mochaccino and their Indonesian Nasi Goreng breakfast and truthfully speaking I was disappointed as it didn't tasted Nasi Goreng at all. It was more like a fried rice. I wanted to enjoy the Indonesian spice flavour. It tasted really bland.
Cafe was quite busy and took awhile before the staff were able to notice us to take our order. We ordered the Beet Root Salad and the Lamb Kofta. The salad was nice and the lamb was decent but the couscous was terrible--very dry, almost like bread crumbs.
I know some of the reviews are mixed, but from my limited experience, this place was great.nnLocation is awesome. Views, as expected in a botanical garden, are lovely.nnPlace is clean, full of light and open.nnService very friendly and the food was good.nnI recommend.
The best thing about this cafe is that it’s located in the heart of the botanic gardens. Whether your taking your dog for a walk or catching up with a mate or celebrating a special milestone, this cafe caters to all!nWe come here on a weekly basis.nI have previously ordered the wedges with coffee - although the wedges were good, the coffee does not taste pleasant at all, it’s way too bitter. I always regret getting it from here but when coffee calls I got to get it!nWe have got the pizzas, they’re all very tasty with a thin crust!nToday, which I have taken photos, we ordered pork belly and the big breakfast, they were both satisfying, mash potatoes were creamy, sausage was done right and tasted good, eggs were so good I didn’t need sauce and pork belly had the crackling which was amazing! On average the meals are around $25-$26 each.nOverall it was a good lunch spot, our dog just chills with the water bowl available for them. Dog friendly places are always the best!
