We came here for lunch on a Saturday, it was quiet. Our meals came our promptly, and the staff were reasonably friendly. We had the garlic bread, soup of the day, and pasta of the day. The garlic bread was yum - not skimping on the garlic. The soup of the day was hearty, filled with vegetables and lamb, and the soup had a nice flavour. The pasta was a very generous serving, with a delicious sauce. The pasta was slightly overcooked, but I didn't mind so much given the very reasonable price for the meal.
Poor experience this evening, not very welcoming and felt like it was frowned upon to only order garlic bread, a pizza to share and no drinks. Our garlic bread had a large chunk of wood in it and our pizza had a small amount of toppings on one side and hardly any on the other. As we were paying there were a group who also complained of the same thing. I also recommend preparing yourselves and kitchen staff in future for Sunday nights at peak dining time as other restaurants have done since this is known as the "busy" time
We won't be likely to return after tonight's experience. Service was abysmal, never before have I felt like we were an inconvenience to staff. Had to repeatedly request sufficient serviettes, utensils, and plates for our family of four -even requested plates twice when first time only two were brought out. To be honest, it seemed staff were more interested in providing service to the restaurant next door ponsonby Rd than attending to those there - and we couldn't hear ourselves because the music next door was so loud. A pity as we have enjoyed meals here in the past but will try elsewhere.
Worst experience I've ever had, first we were told if we bought more things we would get served quicker, when every other table had food. Then we got a Hawaiian with no ham at all and next to no pineapple, was black on the bottom . Meat lovers pizza, 3 pieces had no meat at all. Then when we complained the waiter walked off shrugging his shoulders and did nothing at all. As we were paying someone at the table next too us spat out there food as the chicken was raw. Then after telling them we weren't willing to pay full price the waiter started swearing and abusing us and other staff. then another table complained and the waiter continued too swear and Carry on then they shut service for the evening. Only positive thing for the whole evening was the woman waitress who handled it all very professionally. Wish I bought a 5 dollar pizza from dominos.
Food was full of flavour. Their special chicken dish was yum. Everyone enjoyed their meals. So cheap...drinks and meals. $78 for two....couple wines one beer and two mains plus bread. Service was good for us.
Really poor experience this evening. Two of our group ordered lamb cutlets and there was practically no meat on them. The veg in the side salad tasted like it was days old. The rice was basic boil in the bag stuff. The goulash was also poor, I only ate enough of it to not feel hungry later. I also noticed different dishes on other tables that looked equally terrible.
Appalling. Service was slow, graceless and without explanation for why 2 drinks weren't delivered and it took 30min to get a starter of garlic bread. Water was delivered warm and a dirty carafe. Tables around us received their meals in stages, nit at once. Ours came the same way. Highly recommend skipping this 'cafe'-McDonald's a relatively better option.
So disappointed, myself and a friend ordered a Margherita pizza, however not on the menu but we didn't believe it was a difficult request to have a pizza made with tomatoes and cheese. When our pizza arrived it was only cheese so we requested some fresh tomatoes on top, after a lengthy convo the pizza returned with a swirl of tomato sauce, arising the issue again the team we're trying to argue this. Poor communication between diners, waitresses, and kitchen. Wouldn't recommend.
Some very good Turkish food but they also do Pizza that’s Italian surely ?! But if you like real Turkish coffee then this is the place. Pays to be very precise about what you want, when and how you want it when ordering - our waitress was very nice but a bit on the clueless side.
The waiter looked so unhappy and was not welcoming at all, the food was absolutely awful. I ordered chicken and it came out raw, I sent it back and got a new one but even so it tasted awful and they still charged me for it. Do not recommend.
