After our local ED was full I made the decision to take my 14yo down to Cabrini and pay the OOP $510. Its not cheap, but it was worth it. We had blood tests taken within half an hour and a bed after an hour or so. Nurses and Dr lovely.
Terrible care, not enough staff, crowded waiting room with a lot of people having to stand. 8 + hour wait to be seen. Overheard nurse saying ‘I have no idea who the drs are to go talk to’. Save your $510 and go somewhere else
Absolutely disgraceful.nSo quick on taking your $510...then just wait and wait. So far we have been sitting here for over 3 hours...no one to help or update you.nMy friend has pneumonia and feels terrible...nTruly, go straight to the Alfred ...never attend this joint ...useful...just money grabbers and then understaff.nEven heard that they are cutting staff again...nDisgraceful
Arrived on a Monday night with excruiating headache and neck stiffness and was told it would be a 4-5 hour wait. The triage nurse was terrible. I appreciate it is a difficult job, but it was an effort to get her to take my blood pressure etc. We went home - me with a brain bleed since diagnosed. In hindsight, should have called an ambulance, but I would not go back there - I would go straight to the Alfred Hospital which i ended up at later in the week for 10 days.
