I walked into BWS Holmview on Sunday morning 20th November 2022 at approximately 9:20am after going to Woolworths to buy food for a platter for my friends engagement party. As her Maid of Honour, I happened to be browsing for wine for the occasion, as it was that afternoon. As my sister was not old enough to stay at home alone, bringing her with me was my only option I have done this countless times with absolutely no issues before from your other wonderful, professional and dedicated employees. I am a professional employee of the Queensland Government of over 3 years, as well as years of experience with the Responsible Service of Alcohol, and a previous retail employee of over 12 years, I am aware of what you can and can’t do regarding the distribution of alcohol. An employee, Adrian, who was ‘working’ that Sunday morning, approached me and asked if I needed help with my selection. I politely declined his offer and told him that I was browsing. He then stood behind us the entire time listening to our conversation about what wines to choose for my friend as I am her Maid of Honour. As I went to check out, Adrian asked if my younger sister had ID on her as he felt that “I can only assume from what I’ve heard and from our choice of selection that I cannot serve you today”. NEVER did I once say or suggest buying my sister alcohol, nor was the conversation ever remotely close to the fact. If audio is available on security camera and I very much hope it is, it was clear that I was discussing my friends engagement party and she does not like dry wine, and will only drink moscato. I am so appalled by the customer service here, the way it was handled and the blatant disrespect/attitude towards a regular customer who has brought her sister in before with absolutely NO ISSUES. I feel completely offended and disgusted that I could be accused of something so irresponsible when there was absolutely ZERO evidence, verbal and visual, of the sort. Thank you Adrian, you have just caused BWS Holmview to lose a regular customer of over 6 years.
No please or thank you. No assistance with putting wine in bag. Felt like I was a nuisance. Get out of the way I need to serve more people even though the person serving had not finished serving me. Mentioned to manager but only got a distant gaze. Not mentioning name of person serving me in the hope they may adjust their attitude.
Staff are pretty friendly and helpful. Good specials on Whiskey every week which is a bonus.
Some great Chancellor & Co Cabernet Merlot for $5/bottle. I bought a dozen! Using my Woolies Everyday Rewards card, as I'd bought 6 or more bottles, I got a 10% discount!

Gary and Greg are wonderful. Also let's not forget about Angel... All of these guys are awesome and incredibly helpful. I have terrible shoulders. These guys always take out the heavy lifting for me.
One of the best shops & the best BWS in town. The staff know me and love my dog which is allowed into the store when I'm in getting something. Absolutely fantastic
Amazing customer service from Corinne sorry if that's incorrect spelling. So friendly and helpful.
Go there every Sunday, Angel is the most polite friendly staff member keep her on she is great.
Great staff here, always happy to help and go the extra bit.
