Butterfish

If you don't eat here, it's your loss. If you think Fish&Chips are the same anywhere, you are gravely mistaken. I don't know what magic they brew here but the fish was absolutely amazing. Not just that, everything else was equally delicious. Amazing food. Amazing views. Amazing service. The only thing I can say is praise. I will always return here whenever I get the chance to go to Russel.

The service was excellent and the street scene was perfect for us, we came to Russel to see the sights and climb up the hill/mountain to see the view.. came down hungry and Butterfish hit the spot. Will definitely stop back! 13/10

Had an enjoyable lunch today. We both had chowder. While not the best chowder ever, still enjoyable. Service was great. The menu looked interesting and will probably be back to try something different. The meals being served to other tables looked pretty darn good.

Loved it! Manager is very upbeat and goes out of her way to make your day. This is our 2nd return for the oyster patter on the very relaxing Russell waterfront

The food took a little while to come out consider the restaurant was only half full. The nasi goreng was ok mild-medium spice but not a lot of other flavour. The seafood chowder had a nice amount of seafood pieces but was a bit too rich and creamy in an over powering sort of way. It also came out with a very thick skin on top like it had been sitting under the lights for a while The views here are to die for though. Absolutely beautiful spot

Food was good but the waitress ruined up our breakfast.. Really rude lady,, as a hospitality staff she should know how to do the service.. We been sitting so long and no one even come to assisting us not that busy at thar moment. Before that, we actually come to ask someone inside, do we need to order inside? because we would like to sit outside, and the lady said just go rude, like want to kick our a** and she will come to us. Been waiting so long, no one come. And once she come, she showing rude gesture to us again.. Seems like she doesn't want to serving us. Well, the management need to train more to the staff here. Absolutely lack of hospitality knowledge..

Very disappointed with experience. Rude, sarcastic woman behind counter making coffee that does not accept requests for food ie. no tomato on dish please I was unsure if she was having a laugh but when the items I specifically asked not to receive showed up when my dish came out I was appalled. Not my first time getting bad service here the cooking staff are excellent although pricey meals and the girls that bring out the food are excellent also. Such a shame one person ruins it for all because nice location otherwise

Best flat white I have had in a long time. All the food was cooked very well. The Turkish breakfast was a tasty change from the usual fare.

Coffee was great, amongst the best in town. Breakfast was ok. The ham hock was excellent, good portion and lots of flavour. Definitely recommended! The Big BOI and Bacon Eggs Bennie was average. Go for the Ham Hock! All in all, one of the better establishments in Kororareka.

This was the best meal we had in NZ! The chilli salted squid was amazing. If I could take this home to West Aussieland I would. Fantastic flavour and the fish was very good too. Will be back one day x
