We went earlier this year and it was the most amazing Thai food! So fresh, so full of flavour, just delicious! We would go back to Strahan just for this Thai! Highly recommend it!
This has been replaced by a steak house... Not sure of its name but in the same location. The service was John Cleanse style but not funny just in poor taste. I ordered spaghetti Bolognese, over cooked penne were delivered with a sauce that was like a cheap home brand can. No parmesan. A bun Coles style semi cooked with a foil wrapped butter portion accompanied the spag Bol and it seemed microwaved and chewy. This meal scored 1 from 5 because it was hot then lost a point because even though it was a main course it came a long time before my companion's steak. By the time the steak arrived the pasta was no longer hot. The steak was ordered medium rare. That means pink centre. When it arrived it was well done and tough as boot leather. The accompanying Greek salad looked like a pasta salad no dressing, no feta, no lettuce very poor and unimpressive. A mushroom sauce was ordered and a dish of gravy was presented. I expressed my displeasure to the waiter he would call the chef for me. I waited ten minutes in a virtually empty restaurant and then left to find something decent to eat. My hosts had a chuckle when we told them where we had dined and told us the locals a betting they will be gone soon. Lousy food poor service and a poor attitude is not a recipe for success. Beware!
A terrific place for dinner. Our salmon was perfectly cooked and really well flavoured. The Northern Thai noodle curry was also excellent. I’ve only seen this dish outside Thailand once in Australia so it was a real surprise to encounter it in tiny Strahan. We also ordered the mango sticky rice, which came with a bonus scoop of passion fruit ice cream perhaps to make up for the very tiny serve of mango. The restaurant was packed and yet the team of wait staff were efficient and friendly.
Absolutely amazing. Flavour spot on, every meal delicious, what a great find. The best meal we has in Tasmania in 2 weeks since we arrived. Well done
Just finishing dinner & I couldn’t wait to do a review. Most delicious Thai we have ever had & we’ve eaten a lot of Thai! So fresh & tasty, awesome flavours. Friendly, efficient staff added to our most enjoyable night. Just ordering desert of coconut ice cream with Thai caramel sauce
We ate here both nights while in Strahan and all meals were amazing. They were very busy both nights but the service and food was still excellent! The friendly staff gave us 10% discount on the second night when they found out we were on our honeymoon. Thank you, Ian and Cheryl
I know there are limited places to eat in Strahan so I think this place gets better reviews than it deserves because people are so relieved to find somewhere to eat. Definitely make a booking beforehand or else you will be out of luck. We had a booking for 7pm and were disappointed to find out that the beef massaman had run out so early. The curry puffs were nice, the meat in the green chicken curry was grey and awful but the stir fried crispy chicken and cashews was very nice. Service was awful, 2 staff running and working hard and 1 who clearly was not experienced which placed so much pressure on the others. I don't really recommend this place but when in Strahan with so few options you may not have much choice. If that's the case I recommend the curry puffs and the stir fried crispy chicken.
One of the best Thai restaurants we have come across. Not an overaly large menu but the food we had was delicious. Nice interior seating, easy to walk to, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended, make sure you book through its flat out.
Great service and a fantastic meal. I suggest you book unless you’re ordering takeaway. A very popular place and I’m not surprised. We are only here a few days and I hope we get to eat here again before we leave.
We had dinner here tonight and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Fried rice was tasty and had a lovely wok flavour to it. Great place to have a meal while in town.
